Does armor reduce spell damage? [solved]

The wiki only mentions conditions not being affected by armor value. But what about direct spell damage? Or does the game not differentiate between physical and spell damage?

Also is there a stat that reduces condition (and spell?) damage?

No, the game does not differentiate between physical and spell damage. They are just called strike damage. Toughness mitigate strike damage and Resolution mitigate condition damage.

While @Silent.6137 is indeed correct, Resolution is a temporary boon, not an attribute.  Presently, there is no guaranteed way to reduce condition damage received without a source of Resolution.

You may also wish to familiarize yourself with how damage works in the game, as Conditions bypass Toughness and thus the best way to keep alive is a healthy mix of both it and Vitality (though at certain values, raw Vitality can outweigh Toughness simply by being able to soak up more damage).

I think your wording here is misleading, because of how conditions work any method of reducing their duration is effectively the same role that Toughness provides for physical damage, and while you can't reduce that duration with a dedicated attribute there are traits, runes, food effects and even skills that do.
