Fresh install of GW2 and having issues with Controls

Had to do a fresh install (of everything) in order to get rid of the issues with the new windows and go back to an older version, and it reset my game options to default. I can't seem to get rid of my characters automatically grabbing targets that I'm facing or come into range with. Further, if fighting multiple enemies, it starts randomly attacking/swapping through every target rather than focusing on the one I intended. I have never played with auto-target and use certain skills for mobility in WvW as well, I can no longer use this to create gaps/escape/move in the direction I want to go; further sometimes I can't fight the enemy I want to.

 

Under combat options I only have the following checked:

-Double/Right click to Attack/interact

- Melee attack assist

- Lock ground target at maximum skill range.

 

I've tried unchecking everything but still have the issue. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

well there is your problem ... the right click part has a tendency to cause at least some of the problems you described. You end up changing target simply from trying to turn your camera.

Not to mention you should turn off melee attack assist because it prevents you from walking through enemies which can lead to you being trapped in bad situations
