Can't use Electromagical Pulse during Drakkar and other events

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a bug or just me so I'm posting here. I got all IBS masteries unlocked so I have access to both Electromagical Pulse 2.0 and all the essence manipulation skills such as Spirit Nova etc. During the Drakkar meta event, I usually pick up the Electromagical Pulse from some charr portable station but during that phase where we're in that protective bubble under Drakkar's leg and we have to use CC I don't have access to that skill cos the icon gets swapped with the essence manipultion skill (which often doesn't work cos the target is not vulnerable to that essence) so I'm stuck with it and I'm never able to use Electromagical Pulse during that particular phase since they both occupy the same bottom skill slot. Is there a way to swap the skills in that slot? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I haven't done Drakkar in ages but from what I remembered, you will not be able to use EMP during the fight because the special action key will only control the Essence Manipulations. However, to be able to use the CC at all 3 phases, you must gather 30 stacks of each color essence during the escort phase and must have at least Tier 1 for all the Essence Manipulations. You'll need Resilience, Valor and Vigilance in that specific order to use the special action key to CC Drakkar. Note that you can also use regular CC skills if you do not have Tier 1 for any of them.

Each color essence type will give certain bonuses and each color are effective only against certain mobs indicated by the color auras.  Resilience (Red) are effective against Aberrant mobs (Green), for example - Red beats Green(Valor), Green beats Blue(Vigilance), Blue beats Red. Just remember RGB.

You can still use the EMP, it just gets overwritten by the essence until the essence is used. Drakkar isn't always vulnerable to them iirc so you can use them on mobs to get rid of it

Upgrade your essence masteries to tier 4. It gets rid of that restriction.

Pretty sure T4 only applies to regular mob including champions through the gates, not Drakkar. During the Bubble phase, only the relevant skill will appear so you can CC Drakkar. At any other time, Drakkar has to be in the specific attunement phase for the specific skill to work (that is, for example, if it's Valor(Green) and the special action is Spirit Nova (Resilience - Red)). You won't be able to target it otherwise but you can target any other mobs.

That's  a weird question. The Target Indicator will always show what is targeted so it's virtually impossible not to know if you're targeting the correct mob or not. And your target will not change unless it's dead or you change it.

In the Bubble phase, only Drakkar is present so it's impossible to target anything else. Trash mobs will only spawn after the defiance bar is broken.

Yeah I know. It seems like he has issue getting off the essence skill. Which seems very weird to me exactly because there is no other mob at that time. I think you cant even proc the wrong essence at that time. So perhaps the problem is that he needs to actually target Drakkar to get the essence skill off. Im not sure though because I always target the paws as far as I remember.

Since OP indicated that it has all IBS masteries, I would suspect it did not bother to get the full 30 stacks of essence required for the special skill to work.
