Easy builds to play

Try this.

Edit: Thought I'd provide a little information on why you might choose staff mirage.  Mirage replaces the standard dodge ability with a skill called Mirage Cloak.  Instead of dodging out of the way of attacks, the mirage blurs in place.

Mirage Cloak also has the advantage of allowing you to dodge while performing other actions or even while stunned!  In addition, following Mirage Cloak your auto-attack is converted into a more powerful ambush attack and with the Infinite Horizon trait these effects are shared with your clones.

What makes this build so easy to play is that the majority of your offense and defense comes from simply dodging and auto-attacking.  Since you're dodging so often to generate your offense, you'll avoid a lot of damage whether you're good at timing or not.  You also have the ability to attack from long range while constantly generating clones which distract enemies.  This makes for a build that generates decent damage with effortless sustain even if you aren't the greatest player.

What are some of the easiest builds to play that have a short rotation and do well in Open World PvE and World Bosses?

Looking for several suggestions.

"Low intensity" is the phrase to search for on YouTube for the low effort builds that perform decently.  Several people have made builds for each class.

Auto attack rev: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PmwAwyVldQMMHyj1QdsHij9RksAigJ/l6TD-zRIYR0wXG1mAVUA2OAA-e

That is the renegade version. However, you can also do the same stuff with Core (running retribution), Herald, and Vindicator.  Playing it is pretty simple: you turn on Impossible Odds, auto attack until you run of energy.  Once you run out of energy, swap to Jalis, turn on vengeful hammers, and continue auto attacking until legend swap is of cooldown.  Once it is off cooldown, swap back to Shiro, and then repeat the process.

Each Specialization has different advantages and disadvantages:

  • Renegade is the best at self-stacking might and fury.  Renegade also has an excellent alternative legend in Kalla, and it has the only viable ranged weapon with Shortbow  It isn't the highest raw damage, but it is really good solo and very flexible.
  • Herald has the highest raw damage for sword.  It has some higher number buffs and a souped-up regeneration, but it is only the best if you can get a lot of boons.
  • Core also has plenty of modifiers in the Retribution line, but they're conditional on things largely out of your control (having resolution and the enemy having weakness).  The main advantage to core is that you don't need to legend swap.  Ancient Echoes is restores enough energy to keep you in Shiro stance forever.
  • Vindicator is... different.  First, instead of using sword/sword to auto attack you'll use Greatsword.  Second, you'll want to dodge every time your endurance is full.  Doing this will give you a lot of additional damage buffs.  Something else to consider is using Greatsword 5 while it is off cooldown, since it does an insane amount of damage.  Though this strat is more active, it is the highest damage version.

You can problably try these... They are usually simplified versions of other builds which you can switch to when you feel confortable enough with the gameplay

Will most handle expansion content too you think?

These builds are meant to be super tanky while dishing decent damage so, for your general open world content, I believe they should be fine...

Granted, I don't entirely expect them to be able to solo group content (Maybe the mechanist one can, but that's more because Mechanist is broken in PvE) but as the name implies, you should face such content as a GROUP. And, except for the Hero challenges in Heart of Thorns, I don't think there is a whole lot of open world group content you may find the need to tackle alone unless you actually want to.

Renegade is pretty forgiving in open world. Here's a nice, easy build that chews through most things efficiently.  Not crazy dps, but you'll find yourself alive and finishing off bosses and mobs and rezzing others who died, and stroll away happily.

Also there is always mechanist.

Mechanist with riffle: Press 2 whenever available otherwise auto attack. Or when bored press any random skills xD

You only need to press more buttons if you want to break a CC bar. Every button that has that info in its description.

Equipment marauder.

It's too boring for me.

I personally like Rev - any spec works, or core.

Currently I'm on condi and spec Renegade.

MallyX/Demon and Jalis/Dwarf. Have elite run on Mallyx and attack with any weapon that causes conditions (preferable torment). If the energy is out switch to Jalis and activate the rotating hammers, when the energy is out back to Mallyx,...

If you want more danger use Shiro/Assassin instead of Jalis (Jalis has more defence skills and good healing) and have Impossible Odds leech you empty to swap to Mallyx.

Swap to flamethower when facing enemies that reflect/block projectiles; the  ft AA also provides permanent stability. Runes that work well are Golem, Ogre and Pack, to name a few. There's builds stronger in both damage or sustain, but nmone are so a¡easy to run as Rifle Mech...
