Give it a shot! absolutely mad strong right now. I very much enjoy that there is finally a ?truely viable? ranged caster ele.

(Works in WvW aswell! but with Cele/antitoxin  Cleansing/generosity)

honestly... the posts did receive the feedback i expected, cuz people always think your sussy, when you come around the corner talking about offmeta stuff. BUT I AM STILL NOT DONE HERE ACTUALLY... 💪

So i jumped ingame and recorded some clips so you guys can atleast see what im talking about here. 

idk......... maybe i am seeing things😵....maybe i lost my mind🤪....... but i am having a blast with this build! you have a surprising amount of burst that is also very easy to setup. Thanks to immobs they cant dodge the Dragonstooth. The dragonstooth into Hurl combo will deal alot of damage. you can 50 to 0 builds like the meta catalyst in one literal second, even tho you are traiting almost everything into defenses.

 

 

The sustain is what really makes this build shine tho! The following is a uphill battle against some random vindi. Starting with exactly 6619 HP and big CD´s like my healing elite already missing.

The build simply has alot of tools at hand to deal with your opponents pressure. Even Rick and Morty doesnt have a paralell universe, where he would have enough damage to even remotely threaten me, even if i start with under 7k Hp.

ALSO! you can easily just slot Dagger and Eartshield and become a incredible bunker.Especially People that dont have alot of experience or with suboptimal builds, dont really have an answer to all of the sustain and reflects. ive been memeing around with it in Stronghold today... 🏰

 

I AM NOT SAYING ITS OVERPOWERED, but if people consider FAWeaver viable,... this is viable ANYDAY.

If you ever wanted to play an easy but effective Elementalist build....  NOW IS THE TIME, AND THIS IS THE BUILD. 

This isnt piano like alot of other Elementalist builds... This is clean, simple and effective.

How to damage: Fire is your bread and butter damage. The AA will apply constant pressure and is mainly used to bait out cleanse so you can follow it up with your real burst. Fire 2+3 can be used to stack long duration burns, for when your about to leave fire and transition to earth. Always try to root someone and then put the fire 4 under him or overload on him and cc/root him in that.    !!!After fireoverload you ALWAYS swap into earth to activate "Hurl".!!!(i cant stress how important this is... THIS will be your burst!) You dont have to ready Hurl, you have enough time to swap earth->rockbarrier->hurl. This is 5 projectilefinishers, which you have to use out of your Fireoverload/ or you have to throw them thru your flamewall, to gain "burn projectilefinishers" for some insane burst. Should any of this land, you can use Air attunement to "cover" those condis. Air 2,3 and overload apply Vuln/Blind/Weakness. A cleanse will always clense the condition that is applied to you last, so if you spam air 2 and 3 after your condiburst, it makes cleansing the burn and bleed VERY VERY hard. Always try to go for overloads as they are your maindamage and sustain also. CCing the enemy in your fields is the main goal here. Even tho your running Sage... your Airoverload will still hurt, same goes for your waterskills! just pretend that your cele!  If you are just starting out.... just spam the signets offcooldown. Same for the healsignet.

Tldr: CC them in firefields, spam fire 1,2,3    ALWAYS use your Earth 2 out of a firefield as this skill is your main damage. start bursts with signets. Fire 5 hurts aswell.

 

How to survive: First off...  FIRE 5! Transmute fireaura is your main cleanse, and it also deals good damage and provides might+ it heals... its your main sustain. If4 you apply burn, you will also blind your enemy every 8 seconds. So aslong as you have fireaura, your enemy will periodically miss their attacks.... pairing this with Air3... and your a nightmare to even get a single hit in. To top it all off, thanks to the reworked sceptre and all of your traits, you can have INSANE damagemitigation ontop of a godlike cleanse and blind/Weaknessspam. You will permanently have -39,9% protection with this build to begin with+ extra potential -17% strikedamage from earth+ you wil have also have 1600 Toughness because of Earthsignet/forgerune/rockbarrier. Air and Water are your sustain incase your getting pressured.  They reworked the Air 3, so it will blind AND apply a longlasting weakness should the enemy have vulnerability. If you Overload air, you periodically apply vuln and thus you can just use your 3(you can use it while overloading even) on whoever is attacking you to make him do noodledamage. You have weakness + Blindspam  + Protection on demand, and probably the most tougness of all the builds currently, making you incredibly tanky.   Waterelemental will heal you for 8k every 15 seconds in case you lost your hp and need to resustain.   If you cast water elemental and start water overload you will go from 10% to 100%.  after 15 seconds,  Cast water elemental heal again followed byhealsignet at the same time go again go from 10% to 100% instantly. SUSTAIN IS NUTTY. You can fullheal twice with ease, ontop of your sustain thru auras and passive signet. 

tldr: when your fire --->Earth combo is on cooldown, either go air if your fullife to prevent yourself from getting damage, or go water and mindlessly spam all your healing. Do this till fire ---->Earth is ready again and try to go for another burst attempt.    Rinse and repeat.

 

Pretty solid duellist that can also pack a punch in midfights. This is without a doubt the strongest setup for Sceptre currently. Freshair doesnt even come close.

 

Bonustip: Before a fight, ready rockbarrier, then swap to fire and start the fight from there. When your now done Overloading fire, you can swap earth and instantly Hurl. Then you use the other earth skills or signets yada yada, if overload is ready, do it and from there on rockbarrier just has 2-4 seconds CD. Wait till rockbarrier is ready and while casting it, leave earth to safe time.   This way you permanently have rockbarrier up outside of Earth. The rockbarrier will last till your are in Earth again, so you can instantly "Hurl+Firefield" and you keep the 250 Toughness from it permanently.

While you are in earth you dont have it up, but to cover that "hole" you have -17% damage from the earthtraits while attuned to earth, so you dont notice the loss of toughness at all. This simple trick alone increases your defenses a ton. There is alot of small tricks like this that will increase your performance drastically when you manage to apply them all.

You simply dont need it. you have enough defenses without it. You can allow yourself to take Burningprecision for the extra burnduration on your FireAA and Hurlcombo. But you can take earthshield+conjurer if you want more sustain.

Earthsignet because of the root. Rooting people in your Fire/Earthfields is your main goal with this. Every root helps. Thats why i also take Aftershock.

IF ANYTHING id take Earthshield instead of Aftershock.   The originalbuild runs ConjureEarthshield + Conjurer trait, but i feel like the extra burnduration from "Burning precision" is worth dropping the conjurer trait.

 

Thats my original build that i would run before the recent sceptre changes and further Earthshield nerfs. It still runs Earthshield

i am literally plat 2. 😂

 Last season i had 21 games played with 17 of those being a win. I was exclusively playing Signettempest.  So far i have 7 games played all of those being a win, again exclusively playing signettempest.

i can show you the build ingame, if you somehow havent stumbled across someone that is using it already. Hit me up ingame, i am ready for a duell any time.

Yes buddy. On this class, on this build.  I am playing only Signettempest for almost a year now. And i claim that this is THE NEXT ELE THING. Its literally everywhere in WvW already, just a matter of time till people realize you can do just the same  with Sageamulett than you can do with Cele in WvW. The build literally has the highest toughness of all the current builds, while having permanent 39,9% protection ontop of -17% strikedamage from earth, ONTOP of blind and weaknesspam. Its absolutely incredible for pvp right now.

Btw, i didnt invent anything. This build is around for a long time now.

This isnt theorycrafting. They repeatedly buffed a build i was already playing for a long time now.

The Ebastion buff from Feb2022  ; The transmute aura buff from march2022 ; The Elemental shielding buff from Feb2022 ;The new sceptre buffs from last week; The current projectilemeta;  and them removing the builds only hardcounter(Beamspecter*) lead to the point we are at now. Compared to earlier this year, the build has Skyrocketed in terms of viability.

(Beamspecter slow would literally freeze you in a overload and melt you during the prolonged 8 second casttime xD)

they changed the Air 3 . It now applys weakness when the enemy has vulnerabilty on him already.

Air overload does pulsing vuln, so you can always apply weakness on demand.

This change alone makes you laughably tanky.

I tried the build. Here is my honest feedback:

While the build does indeed pack a punch... i am not satisfied by how hard the punch is in correlation to this builds sustain. 

The Damage is a 4/5 but the sustain is just a 2/5.

while I can defo see why you enjoy it, I am more a fan of those  "Damage: 3,5/5  -  Sustain 5/5  builds".  If you know what i mean 😄

Your lacking a substantial cleanse. Right after your healskill you have a big "Cleanse hole" your basicly left with magnetic wave and a single cleanse from dodging in water. If someone starts vomiting condis on you right after your healskill... this build has to start running away or it melts. Builds like harbingers or bunkerchrono are like a brick wall they will melt you rather fast.  I simply hate builds that will hit a brickwall when they are facing certain enemys. I hate the feeling of not being able to deal with someone simply because of the way our builds are setup.

Maybe i am not playing it to its fullest potential, but thats how i feel about it after playing it for roughly two hours.

The ire of my green eyes of jealousy rage forth due to the luxury of being able to make this statement.... spoken by a bitter engineer 😉.  No matter how I build there are always several builds that will be kryptonite... typically condi / CC ones.

For this build there is two or three hard matchups, but no matchup you will loose regardless of how good your playing. 

Except for Hammer warrior... if i dont slot a extra stunbreak instead of aftershock, they just chain CC me into oblivion...☠️ 

lucky it isnt all that popular in spvp.

Must be nice in unranked.   Cause gold 3 and above hammer warriors are all over

Despite the rudeness... as obviously Shane's not just playing ranked.... I do see a lot of hammer warriors as well in reasonably competitive G3 - P1 games.

 

I think the build I typically see is this fricken thing... really annoying for me to fight...

Youre right, i do not play that many ranked pvp matches... on average i play like 30 games per season.  

I simply have no time for that anymore.

When i find the time to play, im with the BOYYYYS. we are mostly doing some shenanigans; are being forced into unranked cuz we are 2 or more;  or i am duelling certain people ❤️ 

I simply no longer find alot of enjoyment in all the salt and tears, that are to be found in the long deserted lands of solo and DuoQ.  I am just trying to have fun.. i wasted enough sweat trying to take pvp seriously.

but i defo stay intouch with whats happening in pvp, and i atleast get my plat2 every season, just to be able to say:

hEy... look at me! i aM pLaTinUm 2... hurr durrr  🤓

I know this is WvW, i know this is cele,  but since yesterdays patch, my shadowplay works again and this is all i could record today. I thought, the enthusiast here might be interested in seeing this build in action a little more.  

 

Thats literally the first fight of the day. The ammout of immobspam might disturb some viewers. Individuals watching this, are at a high risk of rerolling their main to an Elementalist straight away. Watch at own risk.

This build is like using training wheels cause you can't play a proper one. Sure it works at low medium tiers because you pass the sustain mark that allows you to go unpunished for mistakes..  but you better just play fresh air with scepter and learn.

No stun breaks on demand means people just see when you swap and then burst cc you for 6 sec till overload charges. Damage is stupidly low for extended durations if locked on wrong attunement. Cleanses are also gated by something like a proper chill after fire swap. Also on an attrition build like  that you don't need the range in spvp cause you can only play side noder with it. In proper teamfights it fills no purpose with condi damage and mediocre to low support and what it does there you can do better as a side effect with other options. Don't forget to mention the zero mobility!

I have no idea what the meta is now.. but these builds have always existed and it's just  crutches to not get steamrolled on until you transition to something else eventually. I appreciate your enthusiasm though.. I actually envy it.

It's gives us a new and different perspective on what works for others and it looks like he's doing well with it in WvW. This build can probably do well in 2v2 due to its cc and that window for bursting but yeah the main advantage of the build is the sustain. I played FA LR on both core and weaver before the update and find the tune-up on scepter well designed.
