Akisohida.8963
In regards to anew race, new class, or new weapons? Like, I'd love to play as a Tengu. Or get an 'unarmed' weapon set like cestus and punch-daggers/katar. Or a Bard-like class. The Utility attacks (6-0) could be based on notes, and certain combos of notes before hitting the Elite could buff everyone. Their main-hand weapon could be the Horn, with off-hand swords, daggers, or guns. And they could use actual Axes as a two-hand, ranged weapon. 😁 Weapon skins could actually change the sound of the notes being played, so each player could have their own flavor. What are some of y'alls ideas? 1 2
kharmin.7683
There are plenty of threads already about new races, specifically Tengu. Please use the forums search function. New race will not happen, expansion or not. I can't imagine any new professions; however, I think Anet could continue with elite professions since that seems to be the template since HoT. 4 3 1 15
DeanBB.4268
Elite specs are Anet's chosen method of adding "classes" so you are better off proposing what a bard elite would be like. Or do a search to see how it has already been suggested.
Randulf.7614
I’d like content to rival the scale of the core map. I appreciate that’s over cooking things, but this 4 map expansion design is just too little. I spent years in core maps - they don’t need to be all intense meta designs, just good old fashioned content stuffed maps. Id love them to spend time and release something that combined living world and a traditional expac into one big giant expansion. That’s what I want. Couldn’t give three skritts in a trench coat for new weapons, classes and races. They add so little in comparison. 9 2

DeanBB.4268
It's a little ironic that we tell people to look at old threads, then they resurrect them with their comment, and it then gets locked by a moderator. Can't win. 13 4

If someone posts simply to just agree, they could just give the thread a like. 3 1 1
mythical.6315
I would like the next content to take us somewhere that we have never been in both GW1 and GW2. The 10+ years on the nostalgia train has gotten stale. Edited December 9, 2022 by mythical.6315

Ashen.2907
Class, race, and weapons are not what I am most concerned about for upcoming expansions. Dont get me wrong I would explore those elements if included but story, challenge, and environments to be explored and act as cool backdrops for exciting fights are more of a priority for me at this point.
Tails.9372
A new competitive mode for beetle racing with proper race tracks (and no, the OW tracks, the festival based obstacle courses and even the user generated content are not proper replacements here). Also, centralised non story mode instanced content designed for the enjoyment of the average casual player. The closest thing the game got so far in that regard are DRMs and DS but they are plagued by repetitiveness, bloated HP pools and horrendous scaling. 1
Tachenon.5270
A new playable race complete with a whole new Personal Story, in which we never ever have to join any stupid old Order. Ever! But not just any old new race. Not largos or tengu or quaggan or skritt. Something extra special, something we've never seen in the game before, something like... Elves! Who dwell on shelves! And pride themselves on being twelves! On a scale of 1-10, that is. Or ponies... 1 1

Asum.4960
The biggest thing for me would be a major Core overhaul, primarily when it comes to profession tools. Basically the biggest balance patch the game has ever seen (or at least on the level of the June 23, 2015 Patch), re-evaluating every Core Weapon, Trait and Utility Skill in the context of what the game is today for each game mode, and bringing each to a sufficiently viable spot. Ideally, not with number changes, but proper design overhauls. Potentially even reconsidering how things like the Trait/Specialisation system works again, and changing direction from picking up a collection of passive stat gains and modifiers (like +150 Power or +10% Damage, etc.) over to focusing more on meaningful choices that actually alter and enable playstyles - especially when it comes to Grandmaster Traits/Capstones. I always liked transformative Traits like Writ of Persistence far more than bland, passive modifiers - and I think the game would be a lot more fun, interesting and diverse if at least the 3 Grandmaster's for each line offered gameplay transforming choices. Additionally to that, I'd like to see old systems like Guild Missions and the like to be reworked and modernized. Sure, entirely new content is always more sexy in the moment, but GW2 biggest weakness at this point is just all the dead weight it's carrying around. There's just too many dead and poorly aged systems, skills and design cluttering the game, that fixing up the game's foundation genuinely would be the most exciting main Expansion feature to me. 6 1
AgentMoore.9453
Polish. All of the expansions so far have been unfinished to some degree (even HoT, which is my favorite). Half-realized maps, dropped storylines, leftovers from discarded content/event chains, and unfinished concepts (Hello guild halls and fishing), and broken meta events and quest chains keep killing my buzz. It's especially bad in EoD with all those peddlers and merchants who don't peddle (or merch) and pathing NPCs you can't [greet]. I feel like if they let their expansions bake longer or if they reined in some of their sprawling ideas so that they could bring them to full completion by release time, expansions would hit different in a good way. It isn't that ArenaNet doesn't have good ideas, they just don't let them percolate enough, and sometimes you can really tell. On 12/9/2022 at 2:00 PM, Randulf.7614 said: I’d like content to rival the scale of the core map. This would definitely help. It's true that core does have some discarded and unfinished bits, but enough of it is populated and polished that it's still enjoyable to return to these maps even after a decade. There's always something to see or do while you're there, and that's what expansion maps should have as well. One reason that HoT is my favorite expansion is that its maps are well-populated with unique events, adventures, easter eggs, pleasing vistas, and interesting dialogue. I sometimes visit HoT maps purely because of that whereas I tend to only revisit PoF and EoD if I need a specific crafting material. I also apply this kind of thinking to living world content. For instance The Silverwastes, Drizzlewood Coast, Bitterfrost Frontier, and Dragonfall have all remained quite popular because of the way they are built and the reward structure on offer. These maps are fun places to run around and well worth returning to for the scenery, functionality, and overall vibe. More like this, please. 1

Shadamehr.1284
Just a few ... Story content and lots of it 5 maps at the minimum, felt we were short changed with EoD No more dev time spent on new elite professions, we have more than enough now More collection achievements, again felt we were short changed. kitten the downvotes ! NO freaking Pokemon, with the limited amount of devs we have now and the limited amount of time they have due to staff and budget cutbacks, I'd be really bleeped off if precious dev time was spent on that garbage rather than new story content.
Randin.5701
I'm on the 'new race' bandwagon, so I'll open with that. Tengu would be the obvious choice, but both kodan and largos would also be cool. Even if new races aren't in the cards, I would still like to see an expansion that isn't narratively focused on humans. I've seen requests in the past for an expansion focused on the gods, but after back-to-back expansions about rediscovering the human kingdoms of Elona and Cantha, I'd like to see something focused on other races before doing another human story. Asura-focused depths of Tyria, visiting the charr Ash or Blood legion lands, something like that. Housing could potentially be cool, and is just about the last large, major feature that's conspicuous in its absence. Mostly depends on if they can come up with something more to it than just being a place to decorate. If we get a new batch of elite specs, then I want necros to get a mechanist-style pet-focused spec. 'Commanding the undead' is a fairly core concept for necromancers, and an elite spec focused on it feels like a no-brainer. Oh yeah, and we don't need a fourth Eye of the North. Skip that.

Mistwraithe.3106
Lots of story with lots (ie more than 4) polished maps with events etc to explore and experience. As others have said I'm not fussed about more elite specs, I would prefer dev time to be put into story and good content. Polishing existing content is also fine with me.
