DemonCrypto.6792
i just read the news for this year event and to quote: "The annual Lunar New Year festival begins next week! Tyrians are celebrating the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit with fireworks, games, delicious Canthan food, and prizes." so i think they got the message from us about festival foods or they forgot to take this part off. But my hope is to still have cheap delicious rice balls for my healers , I hope it's not a miss copy and paste on anet part. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/lunar-new-year-2023-is-next-week/ Edited January 4 by DemonCrypto.6792 1

Jukhy.2431
These foods are listed as unsalvageable for research notes in the wiki so I doubt they'll be removed. Longevity Noodles is the only one that has a crafting recipe but it cannot be salvaged either.
Shuzuru.3651
If they removed the food, it would literally became inobtenable since there are no crafting recipe for it. So I doubt they removed them unless they added a recipe
Schimmi.6872
Currently the food is still shown in the preview and as the change to the bags already happened shortly after EoD (most people just not recognized or cared about it back then) and the LNY-food can't be crafted / salvaged, I think it won't change next week.
Luthan.5236
I bet they'll just add recipes for the other foods - then removing them from the loot ... to make crafting more "interesting" lol. 😛
Fueki.4753
Given that it can't be crafted, they might leave the Lunar New Year food in the game. If it's not crafted, it shouldn't be possible to salvage it for their precious EoD currency and thus not impact that currency's economy.
Daniyyel.3428
I wasn't sure there was an official statement as to why the food was removed from tots/wintersday.. I thought the speculation was research notes. I think if we see food in LNY then we can safely assume it was for that reason. If there was a statement as to why I just didn't see it.

Which raises the question why the other festivals' food could not simply be made unsalvageable as well. 7 2

Apparently, removing the food from the bags simply was easier. Edited January 5 by Fueki.4753 2 1
Galmac.4680
So, I got some food out of the envelopes! No problem for me, but I also don't need research notes.
