So is someone out there that speaks one of this languages and can transtlate it into English? I am so surprised that an firm in the US isn't able to provide and news in English and wa have to deepend on others to translate that in English.

Hello Denizens of the Mists!

 

Today we want to talk about more changes to the reward system in WvW. This is a big subject that you have raised with us many times. We've thought of several ways to improve the rewards for your time spent in WvW. This isn't all we have planned, but it's a big part of it. Enough of the preamble. Let's talk about the system of scaling rewards for objectives

 

What are scaling rewards for goal

In short, these are additional rewards for your participation in objective events in WvW, i.e. for attacking and defending towers, keeps and castles. The stronger these targets are fortified and defended, the better the reward at the end. There are four instances where we have provided additional rewards

 

Successful attacks: Control of the target change

Successful Defenses: Events where the attackers were repelled for three minutes

Failed Defenses: The target is lost if the attackers successfully take control

We also want to reward failed attacks in this way. But this is not working at the moment. We are working on it for a future update

The system is linked to already existing events and uses all participation rules of this system. The objective scaling rewards system is designed to reward players whether they win or lose in the activity. It's all about active participation. Sounds good doesn't it

 

What exactly will be differen

First off, this system doesn't affect camps, dolyak events, and other aspects of WvW. It's all about conquering or defending target objects, such as towers, fortresses and castles

Also, the requirements for acquiring different tiers of rewards are changing: gaining silver and gold rewards now requires more active participation, such as defeating guards and opposing players and/or standing in a circle and completing the capture process. There are two reasons for this: first, there was a need to make sense of the differences in scaling rewards for objectives, and second, the fundamentals of rewards in some of these events were not consistently addressed. This hasn't been noticed until now because Gold rank rewards were generally easy to obtain. That's why it has never really been identified as a problem until now

Also, this system will offer much better rewards for the time spent by active participants. This includes rare gear bags, WvW battle tickets, and even grandmaster token shards

 

Why the change

We have several goals for this system. First and foremost, this allows us to increase and improve the rewards for active participation in WvW. By active play, we mean meaningful contributions to team success and battling with opposing players to gain control of map objectives. This player interaction is the essence of WvW, and incentivizing participation is always at the forefront of our decision-making process

 

We also wanted to make battles more attractive. By improving the rewards given out for key events (particularly those on defense) and scaling those rewards based on participation and power-up status, we expect players will be more likely to engage in direct conflict rather than not from now on defended target to move to the nex

 

We realize that this is a huge change. There is also a risk that we have not yet ideally set the limits for different tiers of rewards. As such, we will be closely monitoring and making adjustments as necessary to ensure this system is doing what we expect it to do. Your participation and reactions are very important to this process, so please let us know what you thin

What's going to stop people from just repairing a wall over and over that's continuously being trebbed?  One could sit in SMC and just repair the wall being trebbed from red keep enough times during a defend event and get their rewards.  No active participation necessary but it sure drains the supply.

I am a bit baffled why EU is not speaking up about this. And please NA players my post is about EU only. It have no matter what so ever in NA. 

So many times in the past i keep on repeating my self that EU WvW is UNFAIR. I also repeated that the only reason people seem to not really care is because it did not matter, because winning or loosing in WvW did not matter. Now it does. Now we reached a point where EU WvW is super unfair compared to NA: 

 

Why is that well in EU there are not enough servers to give a link to all hosts in EU like they have in NA. That means that every 2 months at relink 3 hosts will not have a link. It means they will have less players that logs in and deffo a very poor cover outside of primetime, which in EU is only 1 prime time. It means that 3 servers falls down to tier 5 and are stuck there. Only due to 1 up and 1 down system one of the servers each week will move up to tier 4 and then down again. Often this servers are also set as full. 

More then half of the hosts will never be picked as a no link option whilst some of the hosts will be picked 2-3-4 times in a row.

 

Yesterday we find out about the new attack/defend system that will be added TODAY in to WvW. It means that your server will earn more rewards the more succesfull you are. This means that hosts with no links will have less if any coverage to defend or attack hosts plus links who have coverage on serveral borders and also not only around prime time. 

 

This is the time when EU need to wake up and realise that this new additon create a large unfairness in EU among the few hosts who is constantly picked as a host without a link for months and sometimes years. They will get less rewards. And they have zero ways of solving it them self. It is only Arena Net that need to wake up, because they just made WvW competative. They give more rewards but only to servers who will have coverage. Servers who are closed with no links will always be in disadvantage. 

 

I do want to add though that the idea about attack and defend is a good addition, it just need to be treated fair. All hosts in EU need to not have a link at least one time before the circle starts over. It is still unfair but at least more fair then single out a few servers who is always in disadvantage and will never get better rewards.

Nice to see your work in this game mode. Thank you.

My diehard hope will be satiated one day, I'm sure, when you finally get your hands on fixing what is really needed in WWW. That day we will finally get similar servers/teams to participate in a large and engaging large-scale competition. Good job to the whole Anet group.

PS See you in the mists if you come to visit us also in EU. But organize well and always be careful because on our continent you will find many ruthless players.🤭
