game keeps getting stuck on loading screens (when it manages to login)

Since today the game has started acting weird: after more or less 10 minutes of play, if I try to travel to another map the game gets stick on loading, and I have to force it to shut down. Sometimes i can't even get past character selection, the game showing an error saying there's no internet connection, but every other app on my PC and phone works fine online.  I was directed by a guy from the GW2 Discord to this site: https://cloudharmony.com and it looks like there's some server issue, but I'm the only one I know having problems in game.
