Self root is an additional balancing lever. If a skill roots you in place, it is usually allowed to be more powerful. You are basically buying power budget with this.

Do you really believe that, for example, dragon trigger would be allowed to deal the extreme amount of damage it does in PvE if it wouldn't root you in place for 2,5 seconds?

Okay, hear me out. Should Hundred Blades do even more since it is a 3.5s self root?

Honestly? Yeah, it should.

It's another victim of Anet balancing around what new players complain about. Warriors were bullrushing them, followed by a quickness sped up hundred blades which deleted new players. They hated it, complained instead of learning the counterplay (avoiding the CC, stunbreaking out of it if you got hit, etc) and Anet catered to them by reducing it's damage and backloading a chunk of it to the last hit.

Unfortunately, we live in a world where Anet goes "you had a bad experience in that battle, we are sorry and punish the baddie" instead of "ok, you had a bad experience in that battle which was totally avoidable.... learn from it".

To be honest, any skill with a self root should automatically hit hard, and they should hit harder the longer the self roots are.

That last hit from 100B should be more power than it is true, but the whole cast should be stronger as well.

What would be wrong with letting some one doing 100 blades on the move but VERY slowly? Being able to just get out side of pAoE during skills is still very important during your own big skills. Also ppl should not just be able to side step big hits at normal MS so easily.

I would love to see something like churn have some allowing for movement out side of an blink skill (the blink cd no longer lines up). Or even on kill shot for an class that has no blinks on an projectile base skill.
