Another PvP match, another player spending the entire match calling people noobs instead of actually playing.

This season appears to be the worst yet. Almost every match I've joined there has been at least 1 player who is AFK or just spends the entire match insulting their own team rather then actually playing.

 

How can we make PvP less toxic and get people playing rather the game?

Maybe play better so people don't feel like their time isn't being wasted by a team that doesn't know what they're doing? Just a thought.

Okay, let's assume you can play and play well. You join a match and you see a player that you decide it's a good player. Even if your right, at least that player is contributing.
If you refuse to play and go AFK or spend the entire match ranting about how that 1 person is a noob then your effectiveness is 0

By being a jerk you are pushing your entire team and yourself out of spite.

 

Do we not need a way to get people actually playing?

If we rewarded players based on their actual contribution then you solve the issue toxic players ruining it for the entire team and also give people a reason to play better.

Voted for the first option. 

You can turn off chat yourself if need be. I see no purpose for it. I treat Gw2 the same way I treat league. If you need to communicate something, you can do it with map pings. 

And if someone is being a jerk, you can call them out by drawing an amogus on them in spawn. They usually get the message.

If you look into the intrinsic design problems of why 5v5 ranked duo queue only is so bad, you'll realize it's unfixable.

We actually straight up need a new game mode to replace 5v5 duo queue only.

it's silly that they arrange this. Wouldn't be too hard to do.
