Do you have a Guild Wars 2 Steam account?  If so, you can contact the Steam CS Team.  If not, you can't buy Gems in Steam for an ArenaNet account.

Again, if you have a Steam account, here is some information that may be helpful:

The Devs are changing the program that runs the Trading Post/Gem Store soon, so that may be helpful.

Have you tried buying Gems here?  https://buy.guildwars2.com/en-us

I'm having this same issue as OP -also if you use steam then you cannot buy gems outside of the game itself. That site won't work. Cards with codes or even digital codes from online will also not work.

This is what support answer me, it seems to little bit off, when its clearly their bug problem, to force me to do all this things, just to assure them, that its not only my problem 😄

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the problem you are reporting today.

To assist you further, I would like to get some basic information about your hardware and drivers so we can see how you are running the game. To do this, we use a Windows command called ""DxDiag.""

To run DxDiag:

  1. Type the Windows key + ""R"" and type in ""dxdiag"" (without the quotes) in the Run Window.
  2. When the window for ""DxDiag"" appears, click the button labeled ""Run 64-bit DxDiag."" Note: If you are running Windows 8, you will not see this button and may move to the next step.
  3. Once loaded, click the button ""Save All Information."" You will want to save the file to your Desktop.

Once saved, I would also like to review your running processes with a program called HiJackThis. This program will allow us to see any process that are running in the background that could be causing a conflict with the game client.

  1. Download and run HiJackThis from the following link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/
  2. Click the “Do a system scan and save a logfile” button.
  3. Once the scan is complete, a text logfile will appear in Notepad. Save this file to your Desktop.

You can find additional information on what HiJackThis this is and why we use it here:

Please attach both files to your reply once completed.

According to Twitter, the Devs have resolved the Steam client Gems issue.  You should be good to go now.
