Black Lion Keys

ESO sort of does this - if you get something from a chest you don't want, you can exchange it for some currency, but at really bad exchange rates.  But it also marks the ones from those chests as different than ones acquire in the game.  So to take this for GW2, if you got say 5 transmutation charges from black lion chests, you could exchange those into 1 black lion statue, but transmutation charges from other sources could not be exchanged. (This might not be the right exchange ration, but gives an idea).  Or maybe there are other things to exchange for, like black lion ticket scraps.

I have a fair amount of stuff I've gotten I'll never use - aside from transmutation charges, revive orbs (I occasionally use these, but not as often as I get them) or teleport to a friends are basically useless to me at this point.

Bad exchange rate would still be better than not being able to use stuff or keeping items that you will never use. Anet once realized that they were cheating people with BLC when they changed the guaranteed booster drops.. But then here we are, in 2023 with the kitten ToT's, dye canisters, ugly minis a and other things people won't have an use for ~_~
