Good point about the wasted potential of the already existing spear skills. Sounds almost too easy to reuse the spear as a new warrior land weapon.

Well, the Warrior Spear skills are actually pretty good from a combat perspective. They'd just need numbers fixes. .

I think a Scythe for warrior would be cool, kind of like what the Dervish uses in Fractals. I think it would be a really cool weapon with neat effects. Not just for Warrior but other classes too.

why would you have a wooden greatsword if you have a metal greatsword?

answer: coz the wooden greatsword can be cut into two. combined with a metal greatsword, youll now have 3 weapons.

Anet also should start rethinking the use of underwater weapons for land combat. A Spear would be a great choice for Warrior spec "Sunspear".

I've been one of the biggest proponents of bringing spears to land, or creating "polearms" as new weapons for the game but I think some of the skins they released with the most recent LW season 4 update (The Sunspear, the Darkspear and the scythes) represent the final nail in the coffin for this dream. We aint gonna get land spears in the life time of GW 2 :/

To be honest, I'd like to see a Lancer-type spec for Warriors, something they had a chance to do with the Guardian and fell short of. if Anet was to give Warriors, a spear-like weapon, it could be one handed and used with a shield, or make it a two hander and give warriors a decent staff class..

Staff as a melee weapon can already be seen with revenant and Daredevil. It would likely play very similar to those. Maybe we would finally get some more melee staff skins as well... If they do it as a ranged weapon, it better be caber tossing...
