Request for adjusting fixed timers for orr temple attack and defense events

Adding fixed timers for temple events in orr useable with api timer.

  1. 1. What do you guys think about adding fixed timers for orr temple events (attack and defense) which you can look up via api like worldboss events?

    • Yes, since I waited hours without knowing when which event will pop up which I need for an achievement like facet of shadows for zhaitan variant aurene weapon skin.

I think many players experienced the pain to wait hours for orr temple event, may it be attack or defense, so I came up with the idea in which anet will adjust the timers for these on fixed timers and be readable by api timer websites and so on. what do you guys think about this?

I have mixed feelings on this.  A number of the events that result in the ultimate push to take a temple wait around until a player actually initiates it.  Since there's no pass/fail mechanic until the event kicks off, I'm skeptical that a timer would make sense.  I understand that this could change so the events just start on their own, but I suspect you'll find these events will more often without people around to make sure they succeed with the relatively small number of players on these maps.  They're also old content, and the likelihood of something else breaking strikes me as high risk for not a ton of payoff.

At the end of the day though, I have no stakes in the matter.  I just wouldn't expect it to happen.

It’s been suggested hundreds of times before. As above, im not against it, but the older content is prone to breaking easily where events are concerned and is prob why they are left untouched. You also have to remember some are reliant on players doing various pre events. Balthazar for example wouldn’t work because it needs the three escort chains to be completed.

Perhaps the time between attack/defend events could be shortened for the others though. Seems a fair compromise

to this yes maybe it is difficult but I think it would be nice to display a timer when next defense event occurs within the map regarding the temple events at least when you are nearby
