Please give non WvW Players the Chance to craft Legendary Weapons without forcing People to play it.

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

I know I know, the big selling Point since GW2 released was WvW. but tbh i REALLY hate it. i cannot stand a minute in there.

I wish there where the option to Craft Legendarys ( Especialy Gen 2 ) without torture your self in playing a Game Mode you just so deeply dislike. Maybe im just a big exception idk.

Maybe a Reward Track for PvE to get Stuff from WvW, is possible or something like that.

Am I the only 1 who just cant stand WvW?

If Someone has other Ideas, how to reach non WvW Players for the Legendary Crafting. Feel free to Discuss 🙂

p.s. Could be possible we have to do WvW for the new upcoming Legendary Armor aswell :x

If Anet where to actually create an alternative for the Gift of Battle it will most likely be really expensive and time consuming to compensate the relief of a more difficult content to craft whatever legendary you might want. So WvW would end up being the easy way.

I can't really empathize with your hate of WvW, I think it's ok and it can be done pretty casually if it's just for a reward track. Just follow a commander and take objectives, imagine that you're playing Drizziewood Coast or something, and the track will go by quickly.

You are not an exception.  I really don't like PvP or WvW but that being said, I don't really care about legendary gear and if I did, I would do what was necessary.  I may even do it for the warclaw, what a cool mount, some day.  Right now I went back to complete LWS4 so I can quest for the Sky Scale mount.

You can get your GoB by pretty much PvEing your way through WvW.

Flip camps, shrines, and kill guards for credit. On the desert map it’s easier to avoid enemy players. Look up the reward track boosts on the wiki and use as many as you can.

In the rare instance an enemy player or Zerg catches you, respawn and continue about your business. There’s no penalty for being killed.

I play on the NA server Eredon Terrace. We have lots of pve players in our guild who don't care for pvp/wvw, but they have a good time getting their gifts of battle with us (the ones who do enjoy it). You might too as we are super casual and just try to have fun. Feel free to hit me up in game. =). If not, Gibson's post above is spot on.

I, personally, think that any character someone played through the original Personal Story and the HoT, PoF, and EoD stories should receive a 'free' Legendary weapon of whatever type that character used the most. And that weapon should be 'legendary' BECAUSE that particular character used it through all of that. Not because the player jumped through a bunch of arbitrary (and IMO, pointless) hokey pokey hoops, and/or shelled out cash.

Even if that was the case, I'd still be without a legendary, because I've not played any one character through the entire story. It's all about the alts, man. The aaaalts.

These threads are always about just not having to touch any gamemode other than PvE. They don't care that they can literally spend ~15 minutes a day doing WvW dailies for like 20 days max to get it.

I hold out the naive hope that they will have gotten the “PvE GoB, please” off their chests, and the information will be helpful. 😄

i mean if people dont enjoy that gamemode at all and the gear isnt flagged as ( wvw or pvp or what ever ) i mean there are specific pvp, wvw and fraktal legendaries. why mix it up with the weapons. and if u mix up give us multiable paths to get it with similar difficulty.

If you want similiar difficulty to pure WvW, PvP and Fractal legendaries you'd be back complaining that it's too hard now, because getting GoB is one of the easiest things one can do in WvW considering all it takes is 20k reward track points, you can get 1k in a day from potions alone.

Everything else you mentioned takes a lot more effort.

i prefer having it difficult in an activity i enjoy rather, then doing something i dont enjoy.

I would not like to see the Gift of Exploration can be earned in WvW or PvP as there isn't any exploration to do here (not anymore in WvW too as it was said).

However, I would like to see the Gift of Battle earned in both WvW and PvP since we talk about battles here.

I agree that it could be better for the PvP if there was more diversity in gamemodes though.

For me the legendary equipement is one of the ultimate goals that players can have and requiring to experience all of the facets of the game does not shock me, even if there are indeed some exceptions like Ad Infinitum.

The Guild Wars 2's combat system truly shine in players versus players (WvW and PvP so) and I find it normal to have to confront the ultimate opponents, the players, to be able to craft legendary weapons.

Be glad you don't still have to map wvw for map completion too. Just do the easy wvw dailies, farm pips by flipping the camps close to spawn and escorting/killing yaks. You'll be fine. It's a legendary so sometimes you have to do things outside your comfort zone.

sorry but i dont see it that way. its a game, a hobby. i have more then enough stuff i dont enjoy in real life i dont need more in my spare time.

Then you're gonna have to accept the fact that not everything is going to be what you like, which means you might not get the legendary. Unless you want to swipe your card and buy a gen 1 or aurene legendary for about $80 bucks. I don't think it is exactly right or fair that PvPers/WvWers/Raiders have to go out of their comfort zone to do pointless fetch quests or jumping puzzles or boring, mindless group zergs for hours just to get the currency they need, but here we are, having to do that.

It's something everyone either does or move on from.

yeah true i have to except it. its just sad, that people ( like me ) have to. maybe someday anet can find a good balance.
and at least i can just farm gold and buy g1 & g3 legys ^^

on the other side it isnt that i cant see why anet is doing it. they will force ppl explore other stuff in the game aswell, so theyy can better decide if they like it or not.

Games are based on time involvement and how much people interact with content. It doesn't make sense that a game that, most of the time, caters to the way we play to not venture out to see if we like something or not. It is not a matter of if WE want to do it or not, it is a matter to get other people interested in part of their game so they can expand their horizons and play the game even MORE to get their playtime numbers up even more.

If everyone just wanted to do one activity, GW2 wouldn't be the game that it is, flat out. People would not grown as players, or learn the information that they did in order to interact with the game GW2 would have not earned die hard fans if they were stuck doing the same thing over and over again for a decade. They expanded, adapted, grown, and expect the players to do the same, even if it is for a very brief time period.

I understand people want to 'do what they want when they want' but that's not how a success of a game works. That is not how a business works. And that is certainly not how Anet had gotten the types of versatile players that they did. 🤷‍♀️
