Make pvp more rewarding so more people play it.

This is actually more fun and rewarding than WvW. Yet some people claim WvW has more players and would be more interesting and rewarding. In WvW it only is zerging + huge boring maps and the objectives (game mode) is not that interesting. PvP you can at least play for the win and play the whole match. (Since matches are short - not 1-week long.)

Also it is not that hard to max out the chests. Yes gold i not that much. But at least for legendaries it does not feel grindy to mainly get the resources where in WvW you'd have to do painful grind. (To max out the chests in 1 week ... almost impossible unless you really grind hardcore or already have a high WxP rank which also requires grinding. Without maxing the chests you don't really get a lot of tickets.)

This should not be for rewards only. Needs improvements. And not the elite specs/balancing. And not just adding a deathmatch (mini seasons are played by far less players than the normal season). Stronghold mode (PvE stuff inclueded and trying to copy DotA stuff) also did not work.

I'd love to see mid sized combat (10-20 vs 10-20) that requires coordination (splitting the team) with maybe targeted match duration from 20-40 minutes. With no PvE elements but players doing certain stuff. (Like carrying a bomb to damage a door with others protecting them. They even removed Spirit Watch from ranked though and the normal capture points have too much relevance - orb thing at the original release of the map was not that bad I think. Encouraged team play.)

I do feel like rewards should change, but I don't think exclusively more rewarding, maybe just something to deter AFKs and reward actually playing the game...and adding pips to unranked would be cool too lol.

Win = 5 pips

Top 1 of X stat = 3 pips
Top 2 of X stat = 2 pips
Top 3 of X stat = 1 pip

Top 1 of Y stat = 3 pips
Top 2 of Y stat = 2 pips
Top 3 of Y stat = 1 pip
etc...

Max of 15ish pips/game

 

I'm aware that these are not the best determiners of who is playing better than who, but I feel like this would eliminate AFKs, maybe lessen bots idk, give better rewards for continuous play, and better rewards for trying when losing. Maybe even less toxicity as a byproduct of people still getting their pips for being more active players.

Also, all of this functionality is already in the game, it would just need to be rebalanced, which I think makes it a more solid and reasonable solution.
