Fixing the Daily/Weekly/Season Front End

Forget the rewards part, we're not going to discuss that here. This is purely to focus on the entirely unnecessary alterations made to the front end of the process, that locks players into mandatory activities, many of which are bugged. They are planning to drop a "fix" for this on Tuesday, which will increase the number of dailies from 4 to 5. But this doesn't solve the problem as it stands, and just shows they have missed what the problem actually is.

So, how do we properly fix the front end? It needs to give genuine player choice. It needs to reward activity. It needs to remove the impact of bugged content which might be difficult or impossible to complete. It also needs to remove the requirement to have an "opt out" process to remove certain parts of the game. Because if we solve it properly, that is no longer required.

So how do we fix it? Well, it just needs 2 steps:

1. Create new daily, weekly and seasonal bars to be filled up. These will work the same as the weekly bars you get for festivals, so functionally this already exists. The daily one gives 45 WV resource. The weekly one gives ~800 WV resource (whatever the total of 8 current activities plus the weekly reward is). The seasonal one give ~1600 (can't remember the numbers for those) WV resource. The daily bar takes 50 to complete, the weekly needs 250, the seasonal needs 2500. Arbitrary numbers, and  the exact values aren't important.

2. Filling up the bars takes place when you complete ANY achievements in the daily panel. Different activities reward different amounts of progress. Using a vista might only give you 5. Completing a strike might give you 50. Balance everything so that the rewards match the effort and difficulty. So whatever people decide to do, and where they are doing it, they can work towards the WV rewards. The old standard daily tab, with 12 options across pve, pvp and wvw would be reinstated.

There you go. It doesn't matter if something is bugged. It doesn't matter what expansions you own. Players would be back to being able to play with their friends/spouse/children and do the same content for the same rewards. They won't be shoe-horned into a specific type of play they don't want to do, because there will be a massive number of options to progress. And rewards reflect the effort required; tougher content produces better rewards. And best of all, this requires minimal effort on the side of ANET to get this in place. They would be using functionality that already exists and redirecting it to a new purpose.

To get the bonus chest you have to 100% sure but why should you not have to do that?

Well, in the current system, you can complete 1, 2 or 3 task and still receive aa. Sure, you get more by doing everything, but at least you get something. 

Some reasoning for the weekly. 

In the system he is exposing, no reward till 100% done, got 80% of the weekly bar done, too bad, you got nothing 🙂

Oh wait I did not even read the OP in this thread let me go back 😁

It sounds like you get more dailies and when you done enough to get 35 aa points in dailies from the 12 new objectives you would get the 30aa bonus chest same as now.

So yea I dont see it as no rewards you still build up to the same reward we get now just more task that award diffrent anmunt of aa points compared to now.
