Give everyone stealth

War, guard, rev, ele, necro all need stealth.

  • Bladesworn should have a grandmaster trait for stealth on dragon trigger so they can RP as a ninja samurai assassin.
  • DH should have minor trait that gives stealth when laying a trap.
  • Rev ventari bubble should grant stealth to everyone inside.
  • Harbinger should get stealth on entering shroud.
  • Cata earth jade sphere should be a smoke field.

Game would unironically be more balanced that way. War, guard, necro, ele would finally get to play roamers. Rev would get an actually useful support spec.

How about no thats a terrible idea.

The only class that should have lots of stealth is thief, and they get punished in form of having weaker melee dmg.


High dmg plus stealth should not be a thing , and in fact: If you have a high amount of stealth and escapes like thief; your damage should be lowest dmg in the game to compensate for how much stealth you have. We don't need more braindead 1 shot from stealth, we need less.

and rev has more then enough viable support builds for pvp, you're just too tunnel visioned to see it or make such and play it right.

can we stop pretending that stealth is a good thing? having more 1 shot builds is stupid was bad enough when thief was doing it but having more classes do it is too much.

Heck nerf the dmg on thief more if he does too  much, just end this stupid meta of 1 shot builds with cc spams.

A glass thief may hit you for a solid chunk of damage out of stealth but the fight situation is reactable and often requires far less survivability than spiderman soulbeast had.

Burst, stealth, repeat, that's basically the SA thief, you just can't even react to their animations because you can't even see them,  and this is not even a thief exclusive problem, but its clearly the class has has way more stealth and that's why people points them. I'm not asking for a nerf to thief, i'm asking for an overhaul to the stealth mechanic that is also abused by a traitline that is literally based on spamming it, facing a stealth spam thief feels more like a guessing game than an actual skill match.

Reveal from stealth should also work if you miss the hit on dodging targets and blocking targets.

Reveal on casting skills so you can really react to that hit, notice how all damaging skills and buffs has some animation or any effect like icons on their heads losing all sense as soon as you get into stealth.

We can discuss the thief status outside of stealth later, but for now, this stealth spam is annoying, unfun and unfair, this current stealth status was never and will never be good.

Guessing games (at least of this type) aren't random, and in most cases if you know a thief's kit you can predict what they will do. That requires skill as well. It may not be the flavor of skill -you- like, but it is still skillful.

Sure, granted; but this wont make the fights less annoying overall. It'll just additionally punish thieves that you would have beaten anyway.

Which skills? any or just stealth attacks? The former ruins combo field stacking. The latter is already effectively in place because most all stealth skills have a second cooldown on miss or in the event they cannot activate due to LoS or pathing.

Nope, thief is majorly impacted by any changes made to stealth and this should be part of the discussion when you're discussing changing it. 🤷‍♀️ This is another flavor of "put diminishing returns on cc" without any consideration of how some classes depend on cc to make their kits work.

Which is more important, your annoyance with how a class fights or the people that play it? If you try to suggest mechanic changes without making sure that latter thing still has a game to play, you will never get anywhere, especially when the class most benefitted by that mechanic isn't overperforming, just being really annoying while it does perform. The devs may make some weird changes from time to time, but they are smarter than that.

In Wow rogues are countered by heavy armor classes.

Here? stealth classes can counter so hard that it became super popular and other classes were getting it, even mesmers and they were so OP.

They are one shot mesmer had it ranger has had it its terrible i know i didn't point out rangers or mesmers they too had it i'm sure some form of stealth ele existed def engis too.

Its way too good is the point. In world of warcraft when a thief player encounters a tank class with heavy armor he does less dmg and i think it would be good if versus heavy armor anyone with lots of stealth like a rogue does less dmg to heavy armors or something akin so its an actual counter. If you are light on your feet you counter casters makes sense, but it also makes sense to be countered by a warrior if you are a thief player.

In this game for some reason, that doesn't exist and classes like mesmer and ranger countered a large variety of players.

As a Mesmer I want access to auras.   More stealth.   All the boons with at least 100% uptime with zero investment into concentration stats.   I want access to chill and shouts so I can proc more chill off shouts.   I want endure pain and ranger stance, oh kitten I want a pet that can match my own dps if not better.   What am I missing?   Oh ye, a auto attack that is as fast as rapid fire that does 3k a tick and a chain 3rd attack that hits for 9k.   I want mist form in down state.

This isnt world of warcraft. Stop trying to make it that 🫤

If you want to take less damage build for it instead of thinking your armor rating should carry you.  Heavy armors have the tools (beyond just wearing heavy armor) to mitigate and fight thieves. 

Not only that but what you want already exists. Bladesworn counters thieves entirely, and spellbreakers have mechanics that favor them in certain matchups. Dragonhunter counters thieves entirely.  Good heralds counter thieves too. You still have to know how your class works AND how the thief works to pull the win though.

1000% I bet people constantly hate specific WoW pvp classes on their forums too, instead of learning the matchup.

So the illusion-based Mesmer class, which is literally designed around making you see things that aren't there, and not see things that are, shouldn't have stealth. Got it.

Mesmers shipped with stealth: core, from launch. The Prestige  Veil  Mass Invisibility  Get your facts straight.

Ain't nobody one-shotting you. You're letting them pull off a combo without getting out of the way, and blaming it on a mechanic that has been in the game since Day One.
