Last Words skin unlock - 25x cm Silent Surf

by now i am definitely sure it is currently impossible to unlock skin Last Words for completing Silent Surf 25 times and it bugged with SotO release.

before SotO i had about ~15 kills (separete daily, tracked by ufe gains), currently i am at about 45 kills and this skin still remains locked for me

I'm in the same situation as you.
I've cleared it 43 times (by date) since before SOTO was released.
Even if the counter is reset with the SOTO release, it has been cleared 25 times today (by date).

I thought something had gone wrong with my account, but I'm a little relieved to know that I'm not the only one.

with Soto release they "fixed" Last Words so it requires correct amount (25 not 30) and it only counts daily kills, not every kill. (late patch notes)

i am pretty sure they bugged it that it either doesnt count kills at all or only count kills without wipes ( so currently almost impossible)

hope they fix it, i want my "kill proof" 😆

I never imagined that possibility, but it's possible.

If they are aware of this bug, it will probably be fixed someday, but I wonder if they will acknowledge it properly.
I used a ticket regarding this issue, but was only told that "Support can't help you, so please file a bug report."
Of course I reported it, and found this post here.

i am afraid that they are not aware of that.

very small % of players do cm100 at all, most of them probably not complete it everyday and so even less are in 30+ kills range to even worry about it, also players that did it regularly before Soto, probably have unlocked it before 22.08 patch. all you can currently see on forums regarding cm100 is "omg bugged, fix this mess" (despite almost all cm100 bugs being already fixed...) 

"testing" whats going on is sadly impossible because we dont see counter anywhere, all we can do is track our kills and guess that something is wrong.

i decided to create post to give it a bit more visibility as i didnt see anyone mention this issue

I completed it every day since soto patch, and several times before that and still no unlock. My fractal buddy is the same. Each one of us is at over 40 kills total, with 30+ being after the soto patch.

I wasn't expecting it, but it wasn't fixed.
I cleared 100CM today, but it remained locked.
Perhaps this will be a good thing if it is fixed within the year?

I don't know...before 22.08 patch I only did it around 20 times (counted 19 logs, but there might be some kills without arc), and after it I've done 30 times by today...and still cannot buy the skin. Also about the "small % of players", I do CMs almost every day including 100, and even tho there are usually just a few party in LFG searching for 100 CM as well, I barely meet anyone from before. That's still just a couple of hundred people maybe, but should be enough for ANet to be aware of the situation.

i was counting ufe gains on efficiency. too lazy to go over all the logs to find successful kills. i didnt see anyone report issue with this skin earlier so i assume it broke with Soto

this a lot depends on day, sometimes i find group very quickly, but sometimes i sit there for 30min+  (or get inexperienced people and leave after 2-3 wipes). for every "all cm group" there are at least few (-100) groups so sometimes i was doing cm100 only and than follow with easy to find (-100) group.

this content is not abandoned, a lot of players do fractals every day but Silent Surf cm or nm are avoided as much as possible.

they are probably not aware of it. at 15% Ensylos gets stuck in the animation the same way Art and Ai were, but since everyone was crying over "omg sunqua bugged wtf" AI got fixed and Ensylos not. its the same bug but wasnt addressed.

so i guess more people have to realize that they should already be able to buy that skin and report it before we get fix

I don't see why. Even before the latest fix, it was just get wipe at 66% then kill it. Now it doesn't even feel like a challenge, and it's basically just one boss while Nightmare and Shattered Observatory is a whole instance with multiple bosses (it feels more in time than 100 CM even if it's not).

dont ask me, i have over 50 kills... i dont know why, but it is a fact.

~3 weeks ago in other topic people were complaining about milion issues with Silent Surf and i posted that majority of bugs were fixed, tethers work properly, adds dont freeze etc. and currently if you die, thats because you failed mechanic (beside first try that was addressed few days ago).

my 2 posts got 1 hearth and 10+ confused face. hard to explain anything if they didnt even clear single silent surf in past month

Fun thing is I just opened a ticket about that since I know I have more than 35 kills and still can't buy the axe. They told me to open an in-game bug report and this will send info to QA so they can check it out. Looks like I'm not the only one who can't buy the axe <-<

That's what they have told me, as well.

Not the best solution as those guys don't have the capabilities to get back to you, so you are left in the dark. 

Good thing to know that I am not the only one, but I haven't been sweating my jewels off to miss out on a novelty item that is relevant for 1-2 months only and then it becomes a common commodity. 

Relying purely on memory I had:

- 11-ish days in July, as I was clearing on 2 accounts and I just couldn't be bothered sometimes with 2 clears a day, so I missed some.
- 23 days in August, as I was on holiday, but didn't miss any other occasions otherwise.
- 29 days in September, missing only this Saturday's clear.

That's roughly 60-ish kills at worst which can be backed up by the amount of matrices I have been gaining, as I spend 3x Integrated Matrices on keys, and then I keep an extra, since there are 4x Integrated Matrices that you can obtain. When the CM came out, I had 480-ish Integrated Matrices, mayhaps 490. By now I am sitting on 541 Integrated Matrices which means between ~53-63kills. (Not on 1 character as I am a flex player; who knows, it might even matter...)

I have submitted two tickets thus far with even more information, but alas, they weren't useful once, even when I asked them if there were any other people in the same shoes.

Thank you for this thread, hopefully we get a fix soon, otherwise we are losing out on the prestige aspect of the encounter.

I also sent a bug report, then opened a ticket as they are more responsive to that... yeah, they wrote back that I can send an in-game bug report (also how to do it), and I can report bugs in the forum as well with pictures. It is so obvious that they didn't even read my ticket or just don't know anything about the game, otherwise they could have replied back that they know about this issue, or they will investigate it...but no, just like an automatic reply.

I cannot do anything else just to submit a bug report every day after I completed the CM. Currently at 52 kills at least (had some kills without arcDPS working, but I can prove 52 kills with logs) and counting.

currently it might be impossible to unlock this skin at all, but i am still waiting for 25kill since 26.09 patch, ech...

in last week i found 3 more bugs related to silent surf so everything is possible it seems

Is there anyone who could unlock the skin after the patch?

I'm only at 41 kills since Aug 22 patch and ~60 in total, but nothing. The only useful answer to my ticket is that they know about this issue.

"There is a known bug for the Last Words wherein some players may not be able to unlock the buy option. In this case, we can only suggest that you keep an eye on the forum for future updates regarding this issue.

I suspect that you need 25 clean kills where nobody dies, and/or even all party members have to be there from the beginning (no "pre-clear" while waiting others to join your lfg).

probably 8/10 from my kills are clean as you call them, so full pt, no preclear and noone dies etc. as i am recently playing quite often with static group. but even pug groups are quite decent because after nerfs cm100 is not that hard anymore and inexperienced plaeyrs avoid it.

i am still checking this skin whenever i remember and if it suddenly unlocked i will notice everyone here, but at this point i doubt anything will change in 5, 10 or another 20 kills

I wish it would be true but I'm running with a static everyday and I can say we have more than 30 kills w/ no deaths. Nobody can buy it atm. I opened probably 20 tickets too. Nada

Hmm, then no idea...and seems the devs also have no idea, or just too busy checking it. I'm at least 66 daily kills now and still cannot buy it, just for the heads up if any ANet member checks this thread.

Still can't buy the axe. I have arc logs of at least 40 kills, plus all the ones while arc was down... almost all have been daily kills.

If 25 deathless clears are required for it, Anet needs to convey that. I feel like they would have by now, if that's all the issue is. I've submitted one or two in-game bug reports and just opened a ticket. Seems this isn't a priority for them.
