ShadowLurker.8713
Superspeed on stealth from "Meld with Shadows" when using the "Silent Scope" trait is nice, but in PvE, the stealth is 1 second longer than the superspeed, causing 1 second of slow running while in stealth before the stealth wears off and you get superspeed again. It might seem minor but it just doesn't feel right. Ideally I'd like to see "Meld with Shadows" provide 3 seconds of superspeed instead of only 2, for PvE only ofcourse. I don't think it would be a big deal in PvE to have this slight quality of life boost. The other solution would be to decrease the stealth duration from "Silent Scope" to 2 seconds, which I would personally be fine with, but I can imagine we all would like more stealth in PvE, not less. Btw, the maximum stackable duration for superspeed is 10 seconds in all game modes. For PvP and WvW the interaction of "Meld with Shadows" and "Silent Scope" is fine since the superspeed lasts longer than the stealth in both cases. What do you guys and gals think? Edit: Adding Relic of Unseen Invasion to PvE would help with this issue I guess, but the cooldown would have to be reduced for PvE, and I'd rather not have to use up the relic slot just for that. kash.9213
That sounds fair. Open world and instanced pve involves a lot of mob to mob map travel sequences and there needs to be a quality of life there that doesn't feel offset.
FrancisN.9276
That does not bother me as much as the no-valid-line-of-sight bug and the visual bug on rifle 3. If they have the time, they should fix those obvious bugs first.
MorningGlow.5376
Good call! And since we already have a spilt between PvP and PvE/WvW, a split itself wouldn't be a problem. Then again, i don't think it was an oversight (the interaction between Meld with Shadows and Silent Scope is pretty obvious), but rather that two seconds are where the Devs would consider the trait balanced in the overall picture (could be wrong here ofc). I personally would even prefer a reduced duration on Silent Scope. There are situations where i want to dodge and not stealth attack, because my malice wasn't fully stacked. That either leaves me for taking myself out of the fight for three seconds or messing up my malice-rotation. But that's only my opinion. And nerfing Silent Scope? Then the Devs will probably get caught in the crossfire of certain deadeyes, who already went rampant when old Shadow Arts was reworked.
FrancisN.9276
On second thought, reducing Silent Scope stealth may hurt OW survivability in some build. For example, when kiting, the longer I can keep mobs' aggro off me, the more endurance I can regain to keep kiting, so even 1s of stealth, with or without superspeed, is valuable. Relic of the unseen invasion is available in PvE, you can get it through the final chest of the WvW reward track added by the last expac. It's a bit of an obscure way to get it, but it's there. Regarding the cooldown, if you use rifle and use shadow meld, then alternate between dodge and either the D/P 5>2 stealth combo or the sniper's cover stealth combo, you have enough stealth to permanently maintain superspeed. It's a bit more clunky than one button push but again, it's there. Edited October 5, 2023 by Jugglemonkey.8741
