What are the popular SPVP Builds for Engie?

I have not played engineer in PvP for quite some time but mostly I noticed 3 builds for the past few months that I will pull out of meta battle. Some people might have more alternatives to provide depending on your favorite playstyle.

Holo is probably is the hardest to start with if you are not used to its resource management( Holosmith - Power Tools Holo - MetaBattle Guild Wars 2 Builds). I noticed more and more people moving towards this build because it offers some strong defense, has a lot of really strong damaging skills (I would even say it hits too hard rn) and recently some of the other professions got nerfed. It is a strong duelist but also has some decent potential in teamfights. I am a bit surprised to see metabattle suggesting hammer and not sword and shield but both work really well.

While Scrapper - Burst Gyro Scrapper - MetaBattle Guild Wars 2 Builds has fallen off it still is a good burst build. It is a roamer so you will move quickly around the map and try to get kills with some hammer / grenade surprise burst. The hardest thing will probably be survivability (especially managing condi) if you are playing solo queue. If you are used to the keybind to lock on target it will help you a lot in close / mid range fights to land the grenades.

While Mechanist - Condi Mechanist - MetaBattle Guild Wars 2 Builds would not be considered meta or even close, I think it is an easier option as it provides some good survivability and probably has less things to watch out for when you start (you still need to try to not let the mech die). It applies multiple condis to force people to use their condi clear and has some burst potential with conducting signet.

If I have to guess the next ranked season will start with a patch since the next conquest season will start, the vault will be reset too so nothing is set in stone. It could be a pve only patch but who knows.

I'm typically in the top 100 during ranked season.  I play a close to meta nades build (but take crate over sneak and don't take explosive temper).   So nades, blast, shredder, crate, and heal gyro.   Hammer for weapon.

The other build I mix in, depending on map and team comps... is a gyro based build heal, bulwark, shredder, blast with mortar for range.   critical to both of these is relic of the chronomancer.   I run zerker and either rune of scrapper or dragon hunter.

These help team fights because of the gyro bonuses and AOE, but they are not "support" builds by any means.

I only got as high as gold 3 when I played. Sometimes the heavy support was worth it.

Where it sucked at the time, people don't know how to play with someone who can stealth and rez them.

And they don't know what to do when rezzed. Then  there were necros that could aoe blanket the area. More often than not, I was doing my job flawlessly and it didn't carry. Which eh lol...sucks!

If you want to carry with a scrapper, you need to go large damage and swing team fights with high AOE DPS and CC.   The other option, not meta, is a bunker scrapper on a side node that some can pull off.   Support scrapper won't generally be a carry sort of build I hate to say.

This is my Condi Engi build for PvP. it's pretty freakin' strong IMO and will be way better once the patch hits(static shot, HGH, Relic of Vass buffs)

you can swap out carrion for sages if you want more healing or forge rune for more toughness. on patch day, ill be trying out the build with elixer U instead of slick shoes and also med kit + sages ammy.

Thanks for sharing. That looks like a lot of kit swapping 😛

Try Moa!   So with this one you've got two stun breaks and nothing for stability right?   So you must have to hit and run a lot with it?   or knock people over, then run away?   I guess the issue is with all the mobility creep, you don't have much access to super speed, so you're relying on say acid bomb and your one stun break I guess that also gives you super speed.    I suspect you'll get hard focused in competitive events and have few outs to get out of trouble when they coordinate spike you.

Yea it's a hit and run tactic playstyle, but I think it functions fine without stability if you understand the playstyle and know how to kite/jump puzzle. Hit and running works pretty well with incendiary powder too. Slick shoes is your best tool for running away and yea you can pop superspeed stunbreak if you need it just for mobility. Maybe I'll try elixer X after the patch hits. Thnx for the suggestion. It would be a good option vs things like revenant, willb or reaper, which the build struggles with. Supply crate is crazy resustain though with your 4 Blast finishers

Idk why I put carrion ammy on the link, when sages is better in 100% of scenarios.

I wish elixer Us stability didn't last for just a second, but w/e

This is a bit off topic , but Elixer X needs more synergy with condi builds. Rampage/Berserker needs some type of condi dmg application, like  maybe some bleeds or torment on a skill or two.
