Terimac.5871
Hello, I just started playing deadeye and my biggest issue is that i have to spam 1 with hopes that i get to use the malice attack before auto attacking reveals me. Is turning off auto attack the only solution? But then again having to manually auto attack seems like the biggest headache lol? 🫠

Lan Deathrider.5910
You can also try about facing. Another option is to detarget as soon as you stealth. Edited November 2, 2023 by Lan Deathrider.5910

Terimac.5871
I just noticed that its only when i use the steal malice over 5-7 button that i get revealed with auto attack, but when i dodge stealth or use other stealth skills im fine. If i do a 180 look away turn with mouse when pressing steal i wont get revealed, atleast during my 5 minute testing on a dummy xD I guess that beats totally turning off auto attack. Jugglemonkey.8741
I put my 1 skill on a thumb button for my mouse and disabled auto attack. That works for me for the most part.
Virgarth.6354
Same also happens with shortbow bouncings.... The first bounce (which means the second impact after the main target hitting) ruins up the f2 stealth... On pistol you can easely avoid the issue by keep tapped the auto attack button that deletes the wrong common attack and trigeers the stealth one instead... On rifle, never had any kind of problem personally... If u find these solutions too much annoying just turn your rear in front of the target then trigger F2, it always works in pve... Try to do not perform like this in competitive cuz you could easely invite another thief to stab you ˆˆ and it's not really worth the price. ZeroTheRuler.7415
@OP, the solution seems to disable auto attack, but that suggestion is inherently annoying. I wish ANET would simply make DJ travel faster with quickness so autos don't disrupt stealth before DJ goes off. Edit: I also have observed weird interactions with DE specter too. Eloc Freidon.5692
It was fixed before preventing your auto attack from working after going into stealth. Something happened in the last year that broke it again. Asking people to turn off autoattack is a workaround and shouldn't be the final solution.

It is really funny that even if your rifle auto attack hits a target while going into stealth, pressing stealth attack anyways will still work and consume malice correctly while you are revealed.
