Its true that weapon mastery brought a lot more CC into the game, so the OP is right in that aspect. Example - every condi necro in PvP now mostly uses pistol/torch, both of which were exclusive to 1 elite spec previously. Gonna hard agree that there's too much CC ATM

It'd be fine, but like most things in GW2 pvp if you're on one of the classes that's been designated 'Idiot Friendly' (please please tell me about how warrior is actually super duper difficult and underpowered lol) then you'll get 4+ times as much of it twice as often, it'll be tuned way too high, and it'll be about 50 times easier to pull off than if you were playing something that wasn't just a straight-up handout designed to let idiots feel competitive. Just another fun mechanic in the Dunning Kruger Reinforcement Center that is spvp.
