Suggestion Mallyx Stance

Empowering misery(heal):

On use also transfers 1 condi/per sec for 5 pve and 2-3 in wvw/pvp second duration to enemies around you in 300 radius. (Since resistance isn't like how it use to be)

OR

Give it temporarily total immunity against conditions for x amount duration depending on instance content.

• Pain absorption: What if mallyx pain absorption ontop of gaining resolution/resistance, increased resolution effectiveness/condi . So that you can get 50% resolution effectiveness max.

• Call to Anquish: On pull pulses chill/second over 3 second duration

Humm malyx could indeed  increase self resistance to condis like Mesmer improves self alacritity, think its tempest that boosts protection %, that would help while pulling condis from your allies  into yourself, personally I don't mind to loose the +1 energy pip trait in trade off of that, Anet could also reduce the CD ._.

About spread condis isn't that what malyx F2  on herald already do??

yea that was the idea indeed to give some extra protection against condis since you pull condis in. Other classes have some sort of self boost to such boon, give mallyx the same for what they do supposed to do.

And yea I know Herald does that it with consume skill. But mallyx can't do it as core stance with core or other e-specs. And because of more pain absorption useage like that, it can be transferred back better. It is still on a 30 second cd, so can't be spammed.

Also now you could potentially have in Herald the mallyx upkeep more used to get conditions off allies. Which isn't really done without thinking, I am now really vulnerable if I get focused

Would be too op imo.

If you play with mallyx you normally use corruption which transfers 2 condis on legend swap if traited.
with facet consume you can transfer 2 condis on 20 sec cooldown (+1 if traited).
On dragon facet you are invuln to any damage for 3 sec on a 30 sec cooldown and it heals you instead.

Then you suggest the heal with 30 sec cooldown to transfer 5 condis AND make resolution 51.5% more effective (33% x 1.515 = 49.995%).

That doesnt even include sigils that clean 3 condis on weapon swap every 10 sec or something like that.
And revenant also have other specs that already clean condis that i not mentioned like invocation (on legend invoke) and salvation (on dodge roll).

You know in PvE...no problem.
But in PvP and WvW that would be too op. Condi transfer is a very strong mechanic in these game modes, transfering 5 condis on a heal skill is too busted. Even cleaning 5 condis would be kinda strong.

I m not saying revenant condi cleanse is op or something, but condi transfer is op as hell.
I mean I am all in that herald gets more condi cleanse, but i m talking about condi cleanse, not condi transfer.

Give Herald some condi cleanse while not buffing core so without making vindi and renegade too op in PvP and WvW.

If you want incoming condis from allies to not kill you, why do you insist on condi transfer instead of condi cleanse?

In  short on your last question. I was thinking because mallyx fantasy manipulating condis. For my part 5 transfers pve fine, but WvW/pvp less because it's other content yea. It could transfer in there 2, or 3 if traited on permeating pestilence.

Also dwarf heal cleanses 5 conditions instant if cast completed, so for pvp 2, or 3 if traited seems okay in comparison for me

@SeTect.5918Gets the idea why.

Regardless, the best buff they can offer to Mallyx is an unique immunity to condition damage for a set amount of time after using Empowering Misery, it taps into the initial design of the legend without making it the main course of action to go for.

Not only that but it would also allow for immunity to poison effects which is the main detriment as to why Mallyx is in the bad spot that it is, at the same time you're not buffing Glint synergy to heal from condition damage because one skill function works against the other, Poison is also known to debuff Infuse Light unlike old Resistance would prevent it.

It keeps healing in check while not at the total mercy of Poison which wrecks Mallyx currently, it's a win win in balance terms.

Yes, but then I don't know if it's better to apply heals according to alterations or to suppress them. I'd probably vote for the 2nd option.

Well yea, the 2nd option looks better. Also something else then indeed another transfer. It also manipulates condis, so fine for fantasy too. Let me edit to his ^^

I mean in PvE it would be totally fine for me. Condi transfer is unique and i like unique stuff.

But its really a strong mechanic in WvW so it would need to be heavily nerfed in WvW.

Like 2 condis transfered on that skill would be totatlly fine for me, just 5 is by far too much.
Maybe in addition to that the interval of where condis are transfered from allies to you could be split in wvw/pvp and pve?

Its every 3 sec in pve so maybe like every 6 sec in wvw?
At this point you would still get to transfer the condis of your teammates to the enemy but you wouldnt get punished so much if your allies are just standing around and eating like 20 burn stacks which then get transfered to you (ye i feel that, i was playing herald too in wvw haha).

I just dont like the idea of straight up making it basically immune to condis if the amount that is transfered or cleaned is too high. Like 2 years ago there was actually a herald build with perma resi which was fully immune to condis (where resi still made all condis useless on you). These times are over but just try to not make too busted suggestions because 5 condis transfered is clearly too much (at least in wvw/pvp, in pve would be kinda cool).

I like the base idea of making that skill less punishing tho.

Or something like reducing the incoming condi dmg while the facet is active while increasing it for a short duration after the facet is consumed.
Or like reducing incoming condi damage by xx% for like 2 sec after a condition of your teammate has been transfered to you.

Well temporarlily immune like 5 seconds on 30 sec cd for example. Or what I said earlier depending amount of condis transfered on content, it can work maybe idk

Resistance was busted because it was abundant, not because the mechanic was. Nobody cared to play Condi Rev until people like me brought it to light that transfers were good then everyone decided to just max stack Resistance OVER actual transfers because stuff like Rune Of Resistance and Demonic Defiance existed and made spamming conditions better than actually trying to play the game with any coherent thinking, in typical anet fashion they nerfed the traits before the Rune then nerfed the Rune and after that completely made Resistance useless as a whole without even putting Poison in consideration, completely killing Mallyx off viability unless you're playing Herald because they had to even make transfers worst on Core.

Making Empowering Misery able to ignore Poison or straight up ignore condition (Be damage only or if you really want debilitating ones as well.) for a set amount of time is far from OP and unique to a set cooldown, the legend encourages the players to stack as many, I shouldn't be punished for playing the game properly and especially with how easily accessed Poison is.

Make the effect last for 2 seconds and you basically resolved all the issues that Mallyx suffer from in PvP/WvW, back when Resistance was immunity to all damage I played with only Pain Absorption and Ancient Echo which was just 3 seconds each respectively and it was plenty to make the legend good on it's own but has cast/costs to be effectively healing, the skill by default has a cast time so it's not like people can easily get away with it.

Sure was having fun on herald transferring insane mega stack burns in TFs mid in PvP and having somewhat the ability to risk that again is IMO fair within 2 seconds Example here;

well if Ancient Echo on 20 sec cd made resistance, for 3 seconds, do that. Than the heal on 30 second cd needs to be balanced around Ancient Echo 20 sec cd.

And giving it atleast 4,5 second immunity against condi in comparison for  a 30 sec cd. This immunity should take effect on heal, so heal doesn't get reduced by poison.

3 seconds in each part was a lot to decide on what you could do next, in part of these 2 you'd definitely find yourself using the heal at least in between for poisons sake.

If EM could by itself just ignore Poison I'd be happy without the condition damage immunity, I simply think that since Revenant has not as many clears or transfers Vs Necromancer that it's warranted that the healing should at least give some breathing room for the player to deal with conditions.

As it is PA is more of a suicide button, so is Herald Mallyx passive in their current state with how easily poison can ruin everything.

Pretty much this and its supper obvious, wonder why Anet dev's havent spoted something so easy to spot...right?

Maybe Anet can meke it an upkeep with -6 pip degen, pulling conditions by half of the damage and each type of condi boosts condi stats ._. by a small ammount.

 Based on mallyx skill: https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Consume_Torment  for but ofensive, instead of a heal.

Meanwhile remove the +1 pip e-regen trait for something else to avoid  perma usage of the above, the +1 pip already allow some skills to be perma activated anyway lol, that could be also a fix.
