Zevelon.6512 Posted November 13 Share Posted November 13 There are a lot of things lacking in WvW and in the game in general, but i will list few things here that at least half of the listed things must be in the game. 1.Personal/Guild KDR - we have it for the world and skirmish but not a personal/guild one it makes sense to have it in a “competitive” game mode. 2. Consume all - option on the guild tactics from skirmish chests, we should not be forced to use autoclickers to ease the pressure from our mouse. 3.Combat log in seconds - Again pushing on the competitive side here , a fight can be over in 1 min why don’t we have combat log in seconds that we can check with a bit more accuracy in 1 min you may win 2 or more fights and it will be registering all skills in the same min. 4.Better range indicators for portals - some times you see the red line below the skill but you still can pop the skill and it will work but some time even when there is no red line you cannot pop the portal. 5.Blink skills - Can we get an upgrade on the blink mechanic green skill indicator if we can port on an area and red if we can’t and not like since forever green only when in range and then No valid path as a msg. 6.Fix the desync in your servers kitten it - you chase a dolly to kill it you start hitting but it is not there and 15 sec later it ports to its correct location, same stuff when fighting players you use melee attacks that should connect but they never do. 7.Hackers ! - Since Guild Wars joined steam the number of hackers increased dramatically and it seems no action is taken to stop them, not only teleport hacks but infinite endurance and initiative ad well as clip hacks and so on, it is like we play in a hack development lab instead of wvw. This are all issues that i’ve gathered from the community and i bet there are way more than this, but still can you fix your game first before releasing new stuff that will need fixing up on release. So all the metrics and win/lose is on the team as a whole. This ties in directly toward how much/little competitive they want the game mode to be, in order to attract players from a wider range of preferences. (tldr, they don't want the mode to be very competitive) 2) Can only agree. There are so much stuff they could/should fix for QoL. Unfortunately I expect that anything related to WvW is going to be the last place in the game that gets those QoL. 3) I'd guess it's the same as #1. 4+5) Would be nice skill/gui fixes. 6) I'm afraid that ANet isn't going to put any resources into this side of it, so long as it doesn't affect PVE. Realistically speaking, I don't think we'll see much more than some side effects of solving lag in PVE, perhaps some reduction of map caps, perhaps trying to nerf specific skills that might affect it, and other low effort attempts. 7) Would require them to both have active people in the mode, and put resources into solving the problems. Wish they did, don't expect it will happen. Tldr: In general agreed to fixes and attention. But I think people overestimate how competitive WvW is/supposed to be. If someone uses tactics, their name will be visible in map chat in yellow letters. ++ Fix the tiers. At the moment we do not have a functioning tiers system. Maybe 10 years ago it was effective that who had more ppt it had to be tier 1. The current wvw tier 1 should definitely be based on kdr. Yes! It would be a huge improvement. Although for me it is even more important that we get CC's and blocks etc into the combat log. Now it is now not included in the combat log, making it impossible to see "how was I pushed just before I died?", unless you visually see the person casting the skill and recognize it, or figure it out based on knowing all the possible push skills from all the nearby professions (lol..). These flaws are so huge, but never talked about and I dont understand why. I believe it should be quite easy for them to change this, since it seems to be filtered/hidden info from the combat engine and the amount of extra info we ask for is minimal. I see two sides for this. One if it adds latency then not so much. If it doesn't then +10. Might help in IDing Macro players in some instances as well if it doesn't add to latency issues. I believe we won't know until we try tbh. We at least need more people on the balance team that enjoy and play wvw, because it is the hardest mode to balance. I didnt know that he played willbender. From a balance perspective that is quite bad, but I honestly think gvg'ers care a lot about balance, and often dislike boonballing. When I played gvg in the past, our favorite thing was to try to win versus many with very few (when outside of gvg), using all available options min/maxing. I believe the mindset is still the same for those kind of players. Playing like that you become very familiar with the nuances of the meta and the value each spec can bring. The only problem is if they then just want the balance to get worse, in order to fight even bigger numbers with even fewer. Boon balling gives them the greatest min/maxing advantage out of anyone, I highly doubt they dislike it. I mean who did they take the advice on to nerf defense siege, walls/gates, boost rams, certainly not the defenders and pugs, but the people who only use rams and catas, and fight under acs to break into places. Who's bright idea was it to make zerg combat as melee as possible and eliminate range options. There's a lot of things done to favor that group more than anyone else.
