Some pointers on how to save on your legendary Rune/Relic/etc

Recommended Posts

Just figured I'd remind players of a few conversions which might be handy in the current spike in prices on the Trading Post.

1. Conversion of Laurels into materials. Laurel vendors will gladly convert 1 laurel into various bags with crafting materials. The current average value per laurel can be found at fast farming community (https://fast.farming-community.eu/conversions/laurel). Worth mentioning the spike in value of medium and light crafting bags.

- Medium Crafting Bag - 1 laurel - 1g13s

- Light Crafting Bag - 1 laurel - 1g09s

- Heavy Crafting Bag - 1 laurel - 70s

2. Converting Volatile Magic (season 4) into trophies shipments. Unlike laurels, here you have to upfront 1 gold and 250 volatile magic. The resulting trophy shipment will yield an amount of resources higher (or lower) then what you invested. Again can be tracked on fast farming (https://fast.farming-community.eu/conversions/volatile-magic).

- 1 gold and 250 VM -> 2g25s worth of Trophies on average (1g25s profit)

3. Same as Volatile Magic, just for Unbound Magic (season 3).

- 1 Magic Warped Bundle - 1,250 UM + 40s -> 1g44s worth of materials (1g04s profit)

4. Converting Icebrood Saga Ice Shards into Season 4 materials, then converting those materials into Volatile Magic for above

5. Reminder to use buy and sell orders when appropriate. Waiting a day or 2 while having buy order listed can result in a significant cost decrease. Be mindful of which direction the market is heading though.

Feel free to share other pointers. I just figured these might be good for some players to be mindful of (those thousands of laurels might be put to good use for some veterans), meanwhile new players might benefit of knowing these conversion.

Cheers

6. You don't have to participate in this FOMO frenzy we are seeing now.

It's a gamble, maybe unlocking the legendary relic will be as painful as Vision but maybe not.

If you do participate, don't wait until the last few days, all those players who are farming mats but are still short will be buying and competing for the same resources.

It may be easy but we know it will not be free as it is now for ppl who have a rune..... So where is the gamble?

FOMO = Fear Of Missing Out
(I had to google it)

What @Cyninja.2954 listed however aims to help people crafting legendary gear in general. The tips are good and imo very useful.
-
The materials for the Gift of Might/Magic can be easily acquired with the above mentioned tips. The Mystic Aspects require you to collect charms of Brilliance, Potence and Skill. Those drop from salvaging runes.

You can get those from salvaging armor-pieces with certain salvage kits:
1.) Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic, which has a 100 % chance to salvage upgrades (runes & sigils) from salvaged gear
It is a gemstore item, that was already quite useful when you planned to make legendary runes & sigils or crafting runes & sigils yourselves.

2.) Master's Salvage KitMystic Salvage Kit and Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic which both have a 80 % chance to salvage upgrades from salvaged gear
Those are your top budget-picks if you do not own a Runecrafter's kit.

Note: BL kits also have 100 % chance to salvage upgrades, but they are way too pricy to be efficient.

Works with green gear and above, level does not matter.
-
Another way to obtain certain crafting-materials required for the gifts is with the PvE Reward Tracks, which are weekly and map-specific. I show you how it works with the

Frostgorge Sound Reward Track
Every 200 points, you get to a next reward. Many steps reward a Vial of Powerful Blood, every 20 steps you get 10x of these.
Once you have crossed 8,000 you start from the beginning again.

You progress by completing events, which gives you points. You can increase the points you get from completing events with Map Bonus Boost, a guildhall buff that can give you up to 10 % increase.

In addition, you can trigger an instant reward step with the Pact Scout's Mapping Materials, which you can buy for karma, 6 per day from certain NPCs. It is one of the better methods to spend karma btw.

The fun part of this method is, that it works with rifts (scroll down to the bottom, weekly-rotation table) and meta-event chains.
-
You can use these methods to farm the materials for yourselves or sell them on TP, which should be quite profitable at the moment.

BL kits don't salvage the upgrade, they extract it before salvaging the equipment it was attached to, you'd still need to salvage that upgrade with a regular kit in order to get a Charm

@Cyninja.2954`s list is useful for every kind of legendary crafting (Gift of (Condensed) Might/Magic), but if prices for Rune components are now spiking (just look at the Charms since late Friday), it's just a sign of "what you get for giving the Relic out for free for one Rune". Making a Legendary Relic on its own is kind of dead as a concept, unless you get it for a very low gold cost.

As of today, legendary rune costs 815 gold (and it was actually even higher at some point during the initial price spike of charms). For comparison, before the legendary relic was mentioned for the first time, the crafting price was at around 300 gold. Even if we assume the price will never go back to the old levels after the compensation eligibility period ends, it still means that someone crafting the rune now overpays by several hundred gold. And that's when they actually intended to get the rune anyway at some point. If they didn't, they pay now over 800 gold to obtain something that might end up costing actually less than that to craft.

Also, don't forget that relics have a chance to drop a charm when salvaged and, since they will presumably be useless when the legendary relic comes out, might as well make them useful now.  with more than 60 level 80 toons I got 180 relic chests above what i needed for builds on my main toons and salvaged at a about 1 charm for every 6-7 relics.  That saved a ton on making the legendary rune.   Hint: relic of the daredevil gives charm of skill, the most expensive of the three.

You can salvage the relics from the free boxes we got on release for charms. I had dozens I wasn't using and since they cannot be sold and you get the legendary later. You may as well salvage em.

This is what I did. You can also go through and open them for each of the individual core relics first if that achievement means anything to you.
