Boogiepop Void.6473
In the new meta, if you full die during the final boss fight, it's a very long trek to get back to it. Why is there not a new WP that spawns near the boss fight, instead of one all the way back at the coliseum that is there for earlier phases? It shouldn't take traveling a quarter of the map on leyline to get back to the (excessively long) fight (assuming you have the leyline mastery to do it; otherwise you are just ejected from the fight). It's even worse, because for some reason the portals that are supposed to take you to the boss room seem to often randomly disappear early/halfway into the final fight. 10

Randulf.7614
1) The colosseum isn’t far 2) You have a personal waypoint for this very reason 3) Don’t die 7 2 5 22

Omega.6801
They could have used shrines if they didn't want to do a full on waypoint. But yes, you can use the Ley-Line to the Colosseum from the last waypoint and fly from there I guess. 7
nobleboivin.4102
The fact it requires 2 metas to do is stupid especially considering them constantly bugs. The new meta also feels very laggy and slow. On top it off the final boss fight there's way too much going on all at once and not enough time ot handle everything. 2 things need to be done for the new meta. Things need to be nerfed such as spawn times. And 2, add more than 9 minutes. Additional waypoints would be awesome for this meta as well. Takes way too long to get back to the meta spot when you die 6
kathy.8291
WORST META EVER!!!!. getting back from the waypoint is FOREVER.... too much going on watching the Floor for fire; watching the Adds: the rift: in such a small area. WORST META; WORST SET UP. i give this 2-3 weeks before it starts to die down. 7 11
Edge.1653
Tried it once and it's a chaotic disaster of a fight on first blush. Super duper tanky boss that seems more bait than threat (need to burn him down but he won't kill you). Tons of stacked mechanics for pugs to do, none of which are apparently explained at any point. A final battle arena that's a great distance from any waypoint/respawn if you don't have a jade bot waypoint. This meta is visually cool, but feels like it's just going through its first playtesting. 5 4
DanAlcedo.3281
That's what happens when you throw a semi dangerous boss at the 5k dps crew. Btw, the portal that spawns in the arena when the boss fight is going on. Could it be that it is supposed to port you to the boss room? Have not seen it work so far. 2 3
Hotride.2187
On the bright side, the boss takes 10 years to kill and so its not an issue to take a while to come back. I died with boss at 35%, found the way to the portal, thought to myself, you know what, kitten takes forever to die, went back and further away to discover the 2 remaining POIs, went back to the fight and boss still had 20%. I then died at 10% and got back at 4%. Of course after Sowoon (the waterpark dragon in eod, what was its name), the new meta emergency waypoint is light years away from the boss, in comparison. We have many builds that need 2-3 buttons to do 25k+ dps. The game is insanely powercreeped. We are at a point that 45k dps is the new. (high end) norm. Get decent gear and you should be doing 10k dps with just 1111. Without traits equipped. Edited May 23 by DanAlcedo.3281 5 2

Arianth Moonlight.6453
I don't understand how people are dying against the Midnight Boy. I got virtually insta-killed by the champ before entering the tower(?) but against the big bad? Not even a scratch... 1
Gazrul.3086
My only issue with this meta is the insane FPS drop in Zakhiros. It's pretty drastic, my FPS elsewhere is 60 and in that place it drops to 15-20. 6
Trejgon.9367
I agree that the distance for waypoint is a bit rough. Imo we should get another waypoint on the platform inside the citadel, and the tower skip entrances should be a little better highlighted. 4

The combination of game design causing massive disparities in player effectiveness alone is bad, but when in addition to that you try to balance the content meant for pretty much everyone around effectiveness that only a small minority of players achieve, it gets even worse. 5

Now, make sure people can actually learn what constitutes a decent build and gearset without having to look at third party sites. Then we can talk. Until you achieve that however, your comments are completely meaningless. The truth is that this powercreep affects maybe upper 5% of the game population (or perhaps even less). verage players remain pretty much completely unaffected by it. 4 6

To we really need to teach people now that bigger number = better? Is this where we are at now? Do we really need to give people third party websites to tell them to get gear? In an MMO? It's sad. But I see now why mobile game difficulty is in such high demand. 2 4 2

The average player of this game interfaces with it on a low intellectual level. For them, the concern about numbers doesn't even enter their mind. There are other players who give themselves high defenses, because they're more afraid of dying than having poor performance. There are other players who mix a lot of gear and defensive traits/utilities around, used to the conventions in other games where having a well rounded character is a necessity and a polarized character is certain failure. There are players who only equip random drops they acquire with no cohesive gear prefix setup at all (AKA the RNG build). There are players who've decided that yellow quality gear is good enough for them and never bothered to get expensive exotics. There are players who run roleplay builds not built for function, and frequently use contradictory weapons and gearsets. It's a lot of words to say that there's a million ways to come to the wrong conclusion. You'll never run out of ways. Compounding this issue, there is nothing within the game itself that tells you that it is being balanced around glass cannon builds in later expansions. The freeform build system creates countless noob traps concerning efficiency and effectiveness. Coming to this realization requires either a lot of personal thinking and experimenting, or it requires somebody telling you about it. 2

However, as i have already mentioned, until you teach players (again, through purely ingame means) how to increase that number just telling them it's not big enough is meaningless. And that's when ignoring that most of the players have no idea how their "numbers" compare to those of everyone else's. 9 hours ago, DanAlcedo.3281 said: Do we really need to give people third party websites to tell them to get gear? Current buildcraft system is so complicated that even majority of hardcores don't truly understand it (and just follow guides made by others). Those easy 'autoattack" builds you speak of? Without out-of-game sources of informations most players would have no idea they even exist. Much less to figure out what they are. That's the key threshold between "average OW dps" tier and hardcores. Not skill, but information. Hardcores have the instinct to look for it outside the game, but most casuals do not. 4 2
KindredPhoenyx.8976
y'all need a chill pill, eesh. Cringe. Its not about DPS. OP was talking about the inconvenience of getting back to the boss and y'all derailed it to it being a "sounds like a you problem" argument. Get back on topic; who's ego is bigger isn't the problem here. And I agree. Getting back to Eparch is a bit of a doozy. Portals need fixing and a clearer path needs to be set for people.
