Speeding hack necro on BIK's stream MOCKING ANet

This is the video, it starts at 2:17:00ish

I know ANet doesn't comment when they ban someone or take any actions, but would be nice to have a feedback on this one, so, you know, we could have a little of our "faith in the system" restored.

Guys, every games have hackers; can't entirely remove them all. Yea it sucks seeing the same hackers but what matters is reducing their influence to other potential hackers. Main overall objective is reducing hackers, not advertising them in the forums.

So by openly exposing their activities in the forums, you are also aiding in promoting future potential hackers to hack

That's all

Merry Christmas

99% of the time people claim 'hacking' in this game it's because they don't understand all the mechanics. This isn't that surprising, this game is really complex, and the mechanics change all the time. Example: guy above who thinks taunt is a hack.

The only hacks I've seen confirmed in this game are fly and teleport hacks, which I think are inevitable because of how client/server side stuff works. They primarily get used in wvw, and after 5+ years of pvp play, I've never seen them used once in pvp personally. But it's possible at least for them to be used there.

Bots seem to be a recent issue, but botting != hacking, at least not the way most people think. Bots typically mess up matches by throwing them.

If you see something you don't understand, maybe describe the situation and ask more experienced players what they think might have been going on, rather than yelling 'hacks!' Don't be like the guy in my game earlier this week who started QQing 'hacks!' in map chat because a FB on our team was using sword and JI and teleported onto point with them. :/

Did you see taunt where in this video? I have 16k more playing pvp, I have played this game since 2012 and I know the skills of the classes to know enough that he is a hacker, the teleportation of this scourge is not using his common ability of teleport and yes moving fast, disappearing and appearing looking like a constant teleportation.

I wasn't talking about the video, this whole thread isn't about that video, lol. About taunt, I was referring to this comment earlier in the thread:

@Vague Memory.2817 said:I've met quite few of these hackers recently in matches and I'm getting sick and tired of them. A few of them have a cheat that make most of their skill effects turn yellow and if they walk anywhere near you they are able to load you with all the condis in the game and you die in 1.25 secs.

I'm not saying no hack has ever happened. I'm saying the only legit claims I've seen, with evidence, are normally teleport or fly hacks, and 99% of these seem to happen in wvw, probably because it's easier to get away with there, and not many people care about our dead pvp conquest game mode anymore. The majority of the time that people claim hacks in this game, it's usually someone who doesn't understand mechanics. Period. I've been accused of hacking many times by new kids.

One of the problems that need to be addressed is the myth that cheaters are not punished.

It creates a feedback loop that causes players to report less because they think reporting doesn't do a thing, which in turn keeps cheaters around longer before they are detected and punished, and that makes people think cheaters are not punished.

There's two measures needed to solve that:

  1. Let players report better in-game, and inform them how to do it better:
    • Modify the "Botting" report entry to clearly state it includes players using hacking tools or other third-party tools not allowed by ANet.
    • Modify one of the other options to include players exploiting bugs and other inappropriate behaviors.
  2. Let players know when someone they reported has been punished, without telling them who or why. Just a generic "Reports by your and other players have helped us identify and punish a player engaging in negative behavior. Thank you for your collaboration".

This way players will know how to report players without having to take screenshots, capture video and go to some site outside the game, and they will know reporting works.

that was not about taunt and it was not serious, read it again :D

but yes there are hackers, very few, not as many as some here make it sound and most accusations for hacking are lack of understanding some mechanics.

@Balmung.7804 said:Unfortunately both pvp and WvW are full of bots and hackers. This is ridiculous! It does not have 1 day that does not report on average 15 players with bots and hackers. Arena.net needs to automate this ban ... it's becoming impossible to play honestly in competitive modes.

I've witnessed many PvP players using a programmable keyboard and mouse to chain spells together using one key. Using a macro to chain spells is supposed to be against the rules yet Anet does nothing to police this. How can I counter when a players can chain a sequence of spells together faster than I can by using a macro key?

PvP is no longer fun, no longer entertaining and its SUCKS because of widespread cheating

You should change the tittle to "Hackers in GW2" and post it in general chat. They are everywhere,PvE ,PvP and WvW,and they don't even bother to cover or hide their tracks. They just use speed/TP/flight hacks right in front of other players like they don't give a kitten.I report them for botting, but I won't even bother to go through the process of contacting support.Hacker reporting should be streamlined and easily accessible while in game. There was a post in these forums and in Reddit of how this is done, the program that's used etc.Hopefully what seems to us as inactivity on the side of Anet,is really them gathering data on how tocombat this.

yup if they dont ban the hackers they are condoning their behaviour. is what i read from their inactivity. and i would not be suprised if like 30% of pvp players are hackers and cheaters.

I see them occasionally in my division (Gold), but from anecdotes from guildies, they are much more prevalent in Silver and Bronze. (And even so, you may still not run into them unless you play during quiet hours when most real players are asleep.) The botters who are just there to farm pips/reward tracks are annoying enough, but the ones who use hacks to let them win are much worse, imo.

pvp is slowly becoming the new jade quarry from gw1.

Yesssss this! sooo this! Hahaha i remember the good old days of a 3 pack of touch necros moving in perfect sync in JQ. That was always funny to see.

Sadly now on top of the JQ bots 2.0 we also have many many other issues like the win traderboard. Unless you match manipulate you will never see the top of the cheaterboard so it's not really worth the time anymore to actually play ranked.

Flying necro. The warriors emerging from nowhere and going nowhere

I wonder what happened with GM Wonder Tree?
