reaper crit

On my reaper I have 104% crit chance with fury.  However, when I test it on the golem, the best I actually get in combat is 91% crit.  I don't have this problem with any other character type.  Just reaper.  Wasn't sure if I was missing something.  Thanks.

Do you have the 104% crit on both weapon sets? Did you ensure that if the 104% included buff food /enhancements those were active the entire time?

do you mean 91% crit in your hero panel or in arc showing 91% crits happend? 
the hero panel should not change between the golem area and outside without you changing food/equipment/traits.

i just went to the training area with slightly above 100% crit chance (cake still up) and arc also showed less than 100% critical hits happened. in this case because chilling nova is counted in there, which cannot crit.

the damage from hungering maelstroms lifeleech aswell as that from leeching bolts (dark+whirl combo) while in combat log are not in arc. so while they also cannot crit, they didnt drag down the crit % in arc.

If you really want an answer OP, you should probably link your build. As it stand, just saying that you got 104% crit chance isn't going to help us answer your question.

reaper build:   Spite: 122, Soul Reaping 112, Reaper 213.  Not sure how to do a direct link from game to here.  Hope this is what was needed to give me an idea.  Also, it is ArcDPS that shows no higher than 91% crit after a fight either on golem or otherwise.  My hero panel shows 104 always.

However, if you're at 104% crit chance in the panel, but only achieve 91% in practice, I'm wondering if you're using the spear as a weapon, (and are perhaps using other life stealing things too)

The reason being that a good chunk of spear's damage can come from the stacks of soul shards consumed by Perforate.  The soul shards' damage is life stealing....which is a damage type that isn't able to crit (see https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Life_stealing)

Thanks for the ideas.  I tried gs/ss, gs/sp, sp/ss combos.  Each one gave me 91% on ArcDPS.  I thought you had something with the spear component, but unfortunately it didn't show a difference without it.  I'm sure I'll bump into the reason at some point.  Thanks everyone for your responses.

 

Just checked with power scourge.  The same numbers come up.  right at 91% crit on ArcDPS with over 100% on gearing.

Things that wont crit

spear lifesteal on skill 2.

greatsword nightfall into dark spiral for the combo field lifesteal damage.

Reaper Chilling Nova in your 213 reaper spec. 

Reaper soul spiral skills combo field with any dark field. 

Note the -well- utility skills are dark fields so if you have those down and do a projectile or whirl finisher you are doing a combo field that can not crit.

Note that percent of crit damage can mean two things. % of total damage that was crit damage vs % of hits / attacks that crit. 

Combo field launches 12 bolts and the soul spiral crits 12 times for the actual skill damage hits. That is 50% of the hits being crits. 

You may want to check what arc dps is counting.
