Mattahood.9423
Thank your for the new abilities to adjust and move decorations in the guild hall. A bit buggy, yes, but fun all the same. Just spent a week with them and here is the result, a sort of representation of a famous castle - kept running into decoration limitations at lower levels so not as many turrets as the original, of course. The main tower and great hall The clock tower Hagrid's hut Causeway with a friendly sea serpent The great hall interior (you can just see a ghost or two flying around Gryffindore's common room Whew, no I can go back to working on my last set of legendary armor Edited September 8 by Mattahood.9423
Sugar Min.5834
A famous castle in a story where an evil one that must not be named? 🙊 I like that Causeway with the Serpent decorations, I missed that when I first visited. Matt, you made me want to get Glided Hollow 😃 Those pictures do not do your decors justice; they looked better in game 🙂 I stole one of your ideas, just one, I made a big clock in my hall too, no tower just the clock haha. Love your work! Edited September 8 by Sugar Min.5834
Mattahood.9423
I added another section to hogwarts - the cathedral looking area. On compromise I had to make: Since there is nothing that can be used to make a large spire for towers I had to make do with multiple turrets and roofs to get a kind of top for my towers. Unfortunately, pictures are difficult to get with something this large (1150 pieces) But here is the best I can do: The cathedral section I had to make the towers taller than I wanted because any shorter and they interacted with the roofs below another look at the great hall and central tower The main entry and courtyard You can kind of see there are 4 statues, one for each house; a griffon, a raven, a snake and a wolverine (there was no badger but they are in the same family) Hogwarts at sunrise Some tips I learned about the new system while doing this: 1) if you are making a slope such as a roof, it is better to use the straight track rather than the downward or upward slopes. The rotation on sloped pieces makes it difficult to get the angle you want while it is pretty straight forward with the straight pieces. 2) disappearing pieces is an issue several of us have faced. You place a piece but next time you log in, it or another one near by is gone. I found this happened most often in out of bounds areas. I have six "rooms" accessible from my castle and 5 of them are under the map to keep from interfering with the looks of the hall. These were the place pieces most often disappeared from. So, when working out of bounds, I found it best to be careful to stay under the max limit of pieces by a decoration or two. 3) pieces also disappeared when I was trying to place a decoration, got the "too many decorations" alert and moved the piece a little bit but then enlarged it. The game does not seem to always take the enlargement into account until you re-log and then it erases something to make room for the enlarged piece. 4) sometimes the game will glitch when loading the guild hall and not count all the pieces. Under the old system this meant you could sometimes squeeze a piece or two into an area that you had not been able to before. Under the new system those one or two pieces or other decorations near by will be erased. So if you find you can suddenly add a couple of pieces to a spot that had been too full before -DON'T GIVE IN TO TEMPTATION. 5) I have never had a build that took so many hours and I learned that, at least in gilded hollow, decorations that require precise placement should be done during the day cycle. It is too hard to see to place things precisely during the night Edited September 15 by Mattahood.9423
