can someone explain me more about thiev role in sPvP?I heared before thiev thank to his mobility is mainly going to close and far point and almost never going to mid when close and far arnt both for his team while my friend think the best for thiev isnt to capture points but after "sometimes" captured close then "on the way" to far (look on mid places between far/close on maps like skyhammer or capricorn etc) to help his team on mid even if he see its not good for him as paper build while on mid is like always largest chaos between more tankly classes...

btw this friend is playing also more tankly class and he think he know more about thiev berserker as he never played on any class as berserker and then comparing me average player into the best players which he have seen on yt how people with thiev are destroying everyone which they want

and tell me someone who can then...the best what can do on thiev here is to capturing these far/close to get more point to my team or maybe try and learn nore to fight in more "open fights" as mid on thiev then ignoring with 100% far and going only to close as outside of helping on mid....

i play thief roaming. i usually use my added mobility, to go wherever we need to cap. and i try to be aware of how big the team fights are. if your arrival will take a 3v3 at mid to a 4v3 in your favor , do it. if not, its arguably better to decap somewhere else.

also, i force bad teams to fight me off point because i can dodge for days, and it will take them long enough to kill me, that they loose too many points. (only do this if your winning, and have a good team. you might get salt for playing this way, but seriously? kitten those people)

also, this depends somewhat on your build. i play mostly evasion/ interrupt daredevil with condi spam. if your playing some other build, the strategy may be different.

I playing on pure power DD with d/p and shorbow od p/p and as for those situations on mid also thise "friend" was angry mainly on me because only I was with him on TS and in group while rest group no and then he just is angry because of 1v3 or 2v4 etc with this advantage to another team and then tell me..should I go also to this outnoumbered fight as this besrerk build? because Imyself dont see it even while hiding behind my friends..just need single stun or 2-3hits and its over for me while I can go for close/far to cap and then die mainly outnumbered or by "hardcounter" (as condi warrior berserk or something else as know from forums) while im alone and then its also my fauld because I wasnt on mid lol

so then question...if I may die then go for fast die on mid owhere is no place for me with my situation ot then go for this far/close and get killed only by someone better than me or those 2+ player who will get rid of me from no-mid

What builds are you running exactly?

As to the more general question: rotations depend a lot on what your team is doing. You want to rotate into high impact situations and take out the critical target. This may be the DPS on the enemy team or their bunker. Either way if you can down that one player you can then try to snowball the situation.

But, you should have an idea of how long of a window you can afford to be playing out in the open. If all it takes is a quick focus fire on you to down you, you won't be much help to your team. Keep out of sight when you don't need to be exposed.

Thief have always been a roaming profession in sPvP, that’s at least the general assumption and use in professional play.

Your job is to decap far (enemy home node), +1 fights and keep on moving. If your team can hold their own mid you should rotate far to decap and then return mid. The enemy team then have to chose between winning the mid fight or sending one person home to cap it, hence losing mid.

Abuse your mobility and high burst damage to show up within seconds to down someone and then move on. Don’t fight 1v1 unless you know that you will win the fight in a few seconds.

That’s just some general tips. Keep on moving and +1 fights.

The philosophy of thief is to make the flow of the game go into your favor by constantly making an enemy useless and supporting your teammates during that time. There are several ways to do it. +1 and decaping are your main tools to do it.

Some more situational are team stealth for surprise attack ( in coordinated team & duo queue ) or mind game ( people bunkering useless points, or over rotating because you stealthed )
