Spearmarshal's jerkin bug

Different materials take dyes differently, even in one armor item. If you want metal and leather and cloth parts all the same, you might need a range of dyes.

Here it is all in Acid (as you used green tones on yours, I thought I'd generally do the same). Note the darker and lighter texturing. This is a good thing, it makes the whole thing 'pop' more, it's more realistic, less plastic. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/375715891280609285/392481510185369623/SpearmarshallDye.JPG

EDIT: I misread the initial post, thought it was about the armor skin, not the character's actual skin. Oops!

You need to look at the OPs screen shot. Her characters bare shoulders are a darker skin tone than her bare legs (and face). That’s the issue, not dyes on the armour, nicely written post but completely irrelevant.

Op, I can’t replicate this, have you tried repairing your client?

I can’t replicate this bug you’re having.I had a problem with a different piece of armour though, showing a box tile instead of a silver coin/medallion, It eventually fixed, whether down to me repairing or just the regular updates. I don’t remember, but trying a repair is always a start.

Thank you, you're right. I read "skin" in terms of "armor skin" not "character skin." I can't really check this on my character that wears the jerkin, since he's got dark Elonan skin as it is. I hope the repair fixes it, this is too nice a chest piece to have its looks spoiled like that.

Just wanted to chime in to say that this is still a thing and it's quite the bummer considering how great the Spearmarshal stuff looks otherwise.

Like Inculpatus cedo said, the developers have stated that the faces are of a lighter colour than the rest of the body; but this just seems like a bug with this specific piece of equipment - considering that the normal Elonan version does not have this discolouring issue; and neither do other skins or outfits that show exposed skin. I've also noticed that the effect is more severe in PoF zones (since those use fancy new shaders) and appears to also be more noticeable at night and in certain lighting conditions. It also absolutely does not show up in the wardrobe or when looking at your character via the makeover window or character selection screen.

Probably shouldn't get my hopes up that this will ever be fixed, considering it's such a minor thing - it's just such a shame because I adore this armour set.
