Jaye Byrd.8479
We recently lost our Guild Leader, Mike Durkos, in a tragic accident. How do we install a new leader/leaders. Also, we would like to install a memorial to Mike in our Guild Hall. Any suggestions, ideas or support from Anet available?
Nevaahe.6308
There are guild hall decorations that can be crafted that are memorials in which you can add text when placed. As far are replacing a guild leader, this might be a little more complicated. Typically anet stays away from guild politics, short of proving the leader is deceased irl and the account is no longer used, I don't believe there is anything that can be done. You could always put in a support ticket requesting officers be upgraded, this would totally be dependent upon the customer rep responding. Just a flesh wound.3589
I suspect you’re out of luck with the guild leader being changed. You can always try but at minimum you’ll probably need a death certificate.
mercury ranique.2170
I'm really sorry for your loss :(It is not possible to get a new guild leader without the account stepping down.Despite the fact that an account is personal and not to be shared with others, it is also property. This means that the next of kin is allowed to do with his account how they please (as long as it stays in a single hand, it can't be split among more people). This means that they can also be asked to retrieve his password and login to appoint a second leader before stepping down in the account. How to approach this depends a lot on the situation. Some families will need a good amount of time before you can ask such a thing (and always emphasise it is only a request, do not use any type of pressure). Others might know how much the game and his guild ment to him and be much sooner open for this. Specially if they know he wanted the guild to go on without him.And as said, memorals in GH's are decorations that can be crafted.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Decoration/Monuments
