How easy is it to get into Raids?

Do I have to join a raiding guild to find a party or are there lobby systems? I know you should read up about a raid before going into it and watch guides. Im going through the game again, but I have 2 level boosts, so Im saving one for a raiding character (Thinking between a Ranger or an Elementalist). Just wanted to find out stuff about raiding so I dont go in blind and fuck it up for others

Joining a training discord and jumping into a boss. Easy as hell to get started tbh.

Do your party members a favour and research your class somewhat and try some rotations out and you’ll be fine.

join a raiding guild, the lfg is not a place for beginners for the most part. raiders inn and crossroads inn are two popular raid training guild, 1the former is for na and the latter is for eu. Also, read up on your builds at snowcrows, and yes watching guides does generally help

Try LFGing for Training runs, but honestly, try to get a fixed group.Find friends, join a guild (PM me if on EU :p ) or do whatever, but if you're interested in doing raids regularly, the LFG isn't your best friend, unless you're already experienced, and willing to fail a lot. Pugs are really RNG.

waves Hello from the thief forum!Snowcrows.com has all of the top-tier meta builds with their benchmarks and rotations.

Metabattle.com is a more casual website without all the benchmarking stuff, but their 100 rated PVE builds are generally the same as the standard meta builds for each class, plus they tend to do a better job explaining things and go more in depth on what your alternative utility/trait options are for when you're faced with situations other than sitting on a target dummy. Their 90+ rated PVE builds are also fairly usable second options when you don't have the gear or elite spec for their top rated build for that class.

I tried pug raiding on a new account and this is what I realized. People will accept you as long as you can do descent dps and know the mechanics. You can practice your rotation on the golem until you master it. Takes time but we all had to learn. And there are plenty of guides and videos that can give key elements that you will encounter in a fight. There are plenty of training groups nowadays and even training guilds out there. Gear affects dps obviously and meta build are the best options, but being new that's kinda hard. I suggest for new raider to start a class like druid or dragon hunter as you can get the exotic varient of gear fairly cheap and are pretty easy to learn.

Community for raiding is terrible and your best choice would be to join a guild with training runs or one of training discord groups.

If you think you have enough training . I hv a suggestion. Buy legendary armour collection unlock package.. they are as cheap as 2k gold. At the same time you get free extra li on top of a full set of precursor armour. You be able to get in other group other than training group easier.It's a suggestion btw.

If you want to be DPS I’d suggest starting with dragonhunter. It’s quite simple to do well with so you can focus more on mechanics.

1. Get to 80 and geared up. Start with having exotic armor and ascended accessories and weapons.
2. Check the current benchmarks at snowcrows site and practise your dps rotation at the golem training area.
3. Join a training guild and do not use the lfg or you will hate life. Also depending on the guild policy read up on bosses and watch a video or 2.
4. Be prepared to fail. Chances are you’re not gonna master everything immediately but keep going at it and be humble enough to listen to the tips commander gives.
5. Now you’re on your way to become a raider. Try to upgrade to full ascended and diversify your class roster. Being able to fulfill multiple roles is valuable so having classes like druid, chrono or condi warrior will make your quest for a static group much easier.

i did not like raids, but the 2 times i tried was not that "elitism hell" they used to say there, as long as you are willing to listen the instructions u will be fine. Error-attempts can be frustrating and patience is needed. A semi-raid u can also try for experience is the Migraine achievment of HoT.

I'm not a guy :)Yes if you have done few raid training. And hv no more time to train more.. wish to jump straight in and need kp . Seller are selling at 2k full package for full precursor armour unlock. The price is in EU btw. It's a suggestion to ppl as an alternative start to raids.

Apologies are due!Although I gotta say that buying a carry through oneshot kills where you might as well be dead the whole time doesn't give a player much more experience than just watching a video of it. So if its just a matter of having things to link in order to be accepted into things other than training runs, why wouldn't you save the 2k and just use item codes?

Raiding guilds and raiders tend to be elitists. They want you to be fully geared with ascended armor even though you can just get away with trinkets, they will bench your dps, and if you underperform you get yelled at. There are training runs where you can pug into and the atmosphere is less toxic and prone to failure but a lot of the times they can't even get past vale guardian.

A tip I got was that the best place to look for a raiding guild is on the gw2 reddit guild recruitment, because asking for one in the aerodome will never happen. Personally I think raiding is really easy as opposed to wvw and pvp, but getting good at raiding mechanics is a way to get better at the game and noticing things that happen around you. Good luck

Oh, this thread is still alive...So, Op joined my guild and actually did escort that same day with us, then we attempted VG, but ended up failing, because it was a week day, and it got late for people, and there were a couple other inexperienced guys, and a few others that knew the mechanics but were playing new classes/builds for the first time.Since then i haven't seen him, although that's probably on me, since i've been busy, and just been logging in for daily achieves and Fractals.Also gave some hints to him about where to get some gear, since he was pretty much in booster exotics, and not much else.It was fun, and he actually did well in terms of following the instructions and learning mechanics.
