Crashing whole system

Recommended Posts

This is the first game I have ever played that keeps crashing my whole system. (I play WOW, Rift, Archeage, FFXIV all maxed with no problems). It has gone down 3 times in 2 days. The last 2 crashes happened just after zoning/leaving out of a quest instance.Operating SystemWindows 10 Pro 64-bitCPUAMD FX-6300 38 °CVishera 32nm TechnologyRAM32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 573MHz (7-7-7-20)MotherboardASRock 970A-G/3.1 (CPUSocket) 32 °CGraphicsSAMSUNG (1920x1080@60Hz)8192MB ATI Radeon RX 470 Graphics (ASUStek Computer Inc) 53 °CStorage223GB KINGSTON SHSS37A240G ATA Device (SSD) 28 °C931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 (SATA) 28 °COptical DrivesATAPI iHAS124 FAudioRealtek High Definition AudioPSU500Watt

Looking at your specs the PSU might be a cause for concern. Under load the processor will take 227 W and the Video card will take 140 + under load. As it is happening at zone changes it could be a spike in the processor usage. Or it is Could be a bad stick of Ram, you just happen to hit that block of memory during the load. Does the system shut right down to blank screen or reboot?

Well, running your system through https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator says you want 378 watts (so basically a 400 watt PSU) at 80+ efficiency. So depending on the specs and age of your PSU, the poster above might not be far off there. If you have the cash, grab a good quality 750 watt, that should last you a nice long time (not a bad plan even if it doesn't help your crashing really.)
