Eekthecat.4386 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 when I press the keyboard key to turn, it moves very slow, it looks like a turtle, I already set the camera's speed movement to the maximum, but nothing has changed, is buged?I've been playing MMORPG for many years , in games like WoW, AA, WS, EQ and many others, and I've never seen anything like it before, surely this is not normal.Someone know How increase the speed If turning to make the game more like any mmorpg?Thanks.
Taygus.4571 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Use mouse control to turn camera. Either by holding right mouse button and turning, or setting action camera to onAnd change your left and right turn button/key press, to left and right strafe.
Jwake.7013 Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Also for mouse controls if you feel like that's too slow or your action cam turning isn't as snappy as you'd like, check your dpi settings on your mouse. I have mine at 1350, I know a lot of people like at least at 800 depending on the game and settings.

This is not "Paladins, OverWatch or another FPS.Like other's MMORPG, GW2 already have key to move, but is too slow! need fix the option to increase the speed of camera. If you like play MMORPG with mouse, is good to you! but not everyone like this! In True the Bigest MMORPG today, adopt the classic keyboard moviment! aka WoW or FFXIV, so many people still like the good old classic style!Look, this is not change the way of you play with mouse, Just make who like play with keyboard more comfortable.Today many guys of WoW pause the subscription and test new games (because end of expancion), but without this fix in keyboard, will be hard someone come to GW2. And i sure ArenaNet are very welcome to new players (money).Something too easy to fix, just option to increase or decrease the camera moviment with keyboard, can make someone love or hate this game!I wana see whats DEV's have to say!

I think like that too! use the mouse to move around is unacceptable to me, as well as to many that I know!I do not like FPS games because of this!And for small but multiple failures ignored by the DEV, GW2 until today has not become a great MMORPG in number of players!

This is not "Paladins, OverWatch or another FPS.I certainly won't say I disagree with your request, because I don't see any harm in it and I can see the benefit it would have for those who'd prefer to use the keyboard more, as opposed to mouse controls, but I never understood this type of reasoning where people say something along the lines of "This isn't game X, so it doesn't need game X's control scheme".Well, the same logic can be flipped right back to you, this isn't WoW or FFXIV, and it doesn't need to copy their control schemes either. The game's combat and movement system was clearly designed with mouse use in mind, and even if they did include an option to increase the turn speed for keyboard scrolling, it will never be the optimal control scheme, not by a long shot. In the end, the current setup might be an intentional design in order to promote the use of the mouse when it comes to camera scrolling. Asking for a change, even if you present what you feel is a good argument for one, doesn't mean you will get it, especially if it goes against the intended design.

The combat is much more active and mouse movement plays a huge role.Think of it like a console game and having to control camera with one joy stick and movement with the other.You wouldn't expect to just eliminate the camera control.You will struggle in many aspects of the game if you don't use mouse for camera.Keyboard, even with a faster turning speed, can't compete.Rather than wanting the game to be something different than it is, why don't you practice playing it the way it's design? You might learn to love it.

If you want to use the keyboard for turning, that's fine (I use it sometimes, too). But you're going to have to accept that doing so will be slower than turning with the mouse because that's just how THIS game is.
Chazcon.1867 Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I totally agree with the OP, I'm an old school keyboarder and do not use the mouse to move. Turning by keyboard is VERY slow in this game, but there is nothing to be done about it, you love it or leave it. Along the same lines are the UI skillbars that cannot be moved or reconfigured, which really sucks as well for an MMO.

What is slow now, the camera movement or your character's movement? The latter might be an overheating issue OR you have pressed the WALK KEY, which lets your character walk instead of run. Look up your keyboard settings and see which key walking is bound to so you can toggle it back to running.
