NA got shafted from experiencing alliances

In all honesty: Nore did most of EU. For the 30 mins or so it was up, most people spent that in queue.

For those of us who got in, everyone was everywhere and everything was owned by everyone.

We had two friendly squads going out of spawn, found nothing running across the map and then came upon a tower with green flags, blue doors and a red guard. Then they pulled the plug 😛 .

yeah, rather be grateful that u missed it. it was like 30minutes full confusion, then we knew what roughly has been messed up and the queues been skyscraperhigh. then anet reverted the whole thing and fin. that was the whole "eXpErIeNcE"... literally nothing that u coulda missed.

several additional bugs happened there, like seemingly players respawning in wrong spawn or just heavily bugged queues that didn't let u on the map, despite there beeing space... and that list goes on and on

good thing, we can another time post

We need to start thinking what we will be memeing about after alliance drops. What about steam release? Was this announced to be dropped, or it is still 'on hold'?

It's a no brainer...

The relevant parts, no firm dates on betas, sooooo alliances probably ain't coming this summer, they got a bunch of pve stuff to do...

World vs. World

In the July 2021 ArenaNet Studio update, we said that we view World vs. World as a cornerstone game mode of Guild Wars 2. This statement still holds true for us, and now that Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons is released, we can further increase our support for WvW. Our priorities for WvW are largely unchanged from what we talked about in our “Future of World vs. World” blog post in September of last year.

First, we’re actively working on addressing population balance with the WvW World Restructuring system. In the blog post mentioned above, we said that we’d be taking a multiphase approach to building this system. We’re still in Phase One now, which is focused on standing up the complex backend infrastructure for the system and refining the matchmaking algorithm. We’ve run multiple Phase One betas over the past few months, and after taking a short break to release End of Dragons, we’ll be getting back to it. Right now, the team is tracking down an incredibly elusive, long-standing bug that causes queues to reset and throw players back to the end of the line—something that happens more often during the highly active beta events.

Second, we need to make WvW more rewarding for individuals. We took a small step recently by increasing the speed at which the skirmish reward track is completed, but there’s much, much more that we’d like to do, including providing better rewards for active participation.

As we mentioned last year, once population balance and rewards are addressed, our theory is that WvW gameplay will see a significant shift. At that point, we intend to look very hard at core WvW systems (upgrades, scoring, siege, etc.) and balance them to ensure that the WvW experience is still reflecting our vision.

Speaking of balance, profession balance has a huge impact on the WvW experience, whether you tend to play as a roamer, a havoc player, or if you choose to run with 49 (or more) of your closest friends. This brings us to our next area of focus.

Profession Updates

Balance and maintenance of Guild Wars 2‘s extensive combat system, including the latest elite specializations released with End of Dragons, is important for keeping gameplay engaging and varied across PvE, WvW, and PvP. Moving forward, we’ll be making professions and elite specialization updates a higher priority.

Our plan includes quarterly profession updates, with smaller releases in between as we monitor and respond to how the meta in each game mode takes shape. In addition to the number tweaks that you’re used to seeing, the team will be revisiting some underpowered and underused weapon skills, traits, or utilities for each profession in each profession update to help expand your arsenal. We will continue to make game-mode-specific balance adjustments as needed.

We’ll be releasing some PvP and WvW balance changes in the March 29 update, and our first major profession update will drop on June 28.

--------

State of the game, quarterly balance updates, you'd think after ten years that stuff would be locked down on regular schedules already.... Oh and good luck to the one person wvw team working on that queue bug, been struck with it many times on reset night.

Alliances - probably way longer than reasonable.

Balance - next week

Communication - only when anet decide they want to make a post.

whether you tend to play as a roamer, a havoc player, or if you choose to run with 49 (or more) of your closest friends

Well at least its cute that they think zergs run on friendship.

After the second Alliances beta you should've abbandon your hopes of Alliances coming on Summer. They won't, or shouldn't realease a broken system just to keep impatient players happy.

PS. WvW subforum at its best. The next week we'll start again with this "Anet hates WvW, Alliances when, communication ever" mantra.

I mean, I don't really care at this point, but like, Anet has such a bad record that well, the alliance and WvW talk remains to be debunked as creditless.

dear anet, don't use your world restructuring (rip ekko btw, disturbing red NPC foes on alpines still sticking us in battle... some new trees in EBG hindering sight during fights.. gg) as an excuse to give Wvw content.

we'd like to see new stuff. siege, tactics, a map??? been two expansions if i got informed correctly since red border. and red border wasn't a masterpiece in design with it's 200 heights and the uncomfy spawn positions

I would not want to break the eggs in this basket. but they told us recently that they are completing the EOD fixes and are working on an annoying bug of the latest beta.

so alliances when? I guess soon. work in progress.

and when you have finally obtained your alliances and you will have deleted forever the server communities, because this is what you voted on this forum to solve the balance between the teams, do not correct the algorithm, do not correct the logic of numerically equal teams not the logic of scaling the score in reference to the number of players online (problem of 24/7)

then you will explain to me what motivations I should have to be competitive in a competitive mode. that after 4 weeks puts me in a different team with different team companions, which maybe I don't even know.
