swap based classes are obsolete in PvP

Every class in the meta has two or more instant skills on their bar and on-demand profession mechanics.

Soulbeast, Weaver, Renegade are great at sustain but incredibly slow to react. Even their instant skills have much less potency and/or much higher cooldown than the meta alternatives. Their mechanics simultaneously encourage and punish those who try to retain access by camping. In essence, they are pushed to a bruising playstyle that does not exist after the supporting amulet, gear, sigils, etc were all nerfed or removed.

They are now offensive supports. If they bruise the enemy it was because they heal/buff/cleanse allies. Not because of their own consistent damage.

Running two offensive supports instead of a defensive support + high dps is something you'd do in a raid, not sPvP.

Unless they can somehow speed up their rotations they will be viable but never meta.

Edit: some possible ways to address the issue

  • dual attuning to the same element does not proc the universal cooldown
  • you can overload a legend/pet selection to reset its energy/skills but setting the legend/pet swap on cooldown
  • weave self lowers the swap cooldown to 0 but lasts 10 seconds
