TheBandit.7031 Posted February 9, 2018 Share Posted February 9, 2018 I don't really play anymore but I always check the patch notes in hope that I can come on every now and then to have fun with a casual turret engineer in open world. Turrets have been completely useless but I have had my fingers crossed that they would get a buff at some point. I checked the recent patch notes and... they got nerfed again. Really?Is there no hope for turrets at all? I don't understand why Arenanet wants them to be so useless. Except for the healing turret of course. Necromancer minions get a huge health buff in PvE, why can't turrets get it too? Instead they get their only way of reducing damage taken away. Funkystuff.1563 Posted February 10, 2018 Share Posted February 10, 2018 they changed a lot of traits and suddenly holos start using thumper turret with the invention trait that make the turret provide protection. basically it now gives protection which remove conditions and with the Purity of Purpose trait it converts it to boon. so thumper turret---> protection---> convert condis to boons. Rifle turret had/has its uses in static discharge builds (8s cd on toolbelt skill). Flame turret... Well blinds pve mobs and has fire field so you can blast might?. Net turret... Can be used traited to give swiftness to dollies/npcs or use to spam immob on something for fun xD. Rocket turret is useless but the coolest one.Sure theyre not the greatest skills or builds but for new player, they're pretty awesome. Back in the turret engi meta, an engineer could entrench at virtually any point and was about as strong as a druid is now, without as many of the potential counters. Ironically, they could probably return turrets to their original power now and I bet you they would still be bad due to power creep.The other issue is the AI. If you're relying on turrets such as rocket turret or rifle turret, their targeting AI is extremely wonky. Rangers and necros are intimately familiar with this problem. Ten.2617 Posted February 10, 2018 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Sometimes i want overcharge flame turret for smoke field, but it don't releases the smoke field if the foe is not in range.Anet needs revert that overcharge change and allow turrets overchages as soon the player commands.
