Lotus Bane.9387
I have been gone for a while now and returning back to the game. I was wondering if people have started doing HP trains for the PoF areas yet? I was on last night and noticed there weren't any HP trains at all for HoT (may have been because of the new story). Ayrilana.1396
People still do HP trains for HoT but you’ll likely never see any for PoF as they can all be done solo.
mercury ranique.2170
Hp trains in HoT. They do happen on prime time and you might need to be patient (or start your own)HP trains in PoF. I disagree it is soloable. It is with elite specs and max out gear, but the purpose of doing HP’s is that people are building a character and lack of knowledge of a play style and gear means it is a lot harder to solo. So there are trains, less then once HoT, and specially now the new content is out, but expect them to go back in the lfg on Saturday’s at prime time. The PoF HP challenges spawn veterans, but they are veterans with a few hundred thousand health and at least one of them I can think of hits as hard as most champions! Certainly more easily done solo than HoT champions, but for that reason it's also harder to find HP trains for them if you need it.
MrMojoRisin.7364
I took a train in HoT a few weeks back run by a character named “HP Train” so they are definitely a thing!

My personal difficulty scale as a filthy casual 4-year veteran of this game is that for the HoT HP champions, I want at least 2 or 3 other players with me to have a fair chance of winning. Whereas with the PoF HP vets, I can solo some of them with confidence, but with others I am happy to have 1 other player helping. (Some are easier than others, and it varies greatly by profession and build, but that's the general idea.)
autumnfrosts.6318
I have occasionally seen PoF HP trains, but every time I've done them was with a guildie or two. If you're not confident on them alone, a person or two is sufficient.

Yet there are also many HPs that a significant portion of the player base will need help with. The method for obtaining that help is probably not the same as it was previously. I expect asking in map chat or posting your own group in LFG are better options than waiting for an HP train (unless there's maybe a guild that does them on a schedule?).I hope that's a little more clear for you than "This guy thinks veterans are champions!" Lotus Bane.9387
Thanks. I figured the PoF HPs were easier. It's just the experience in HoT with having that "guide" to lead you to all the HPs for donations (especially the chronomancer leads) definitely helped speed up the process. I have all of the mounts except the griffon, so I guess that should help out quite a bit.

If you have ever fought a champion solo then you would easily see that fighting a champion and fighting those HP veterans is night and day. Players do have have varying skill levels. I based soloable on my perception of the average player and their skill level which I consider to be pretty low. Everyone has the capacity to be better but make the choice not to be. Exceptions being internet connection and anything outside of their control. There are surely players that cannot solo the Arah story instance at the end of the personal story. Does this mean that it’s not soloable? No. Whether something is soloable is not determined by those in the lower end of the spectrum but for the “average” player. I will point out that this is different from “it’s not soloable by me”.The reason there are hardly any HP trains in POF is because players for the most part can all solo those HP’s. There will undoubtably be those that are unable to as we see evidenced in this thread but they’re not the norm. In this thread I stated that all PoF HP’s are soloable which they are. Those that are unable to should probably form a group to run them although I’m not sure how the turnout will be.
mtpelion.4562
HoT still runs HP trains, mostly because you NEED them to get most of the HPs since they were designed around a large group versus a solo player.PoF has them occasionally, but they were all designed to be done solo (though many can be difficult to solo depending on your skill level or spec).
