Plus most core builds are significantly disadavantaged vs HoT or PoF builds. And the matchmaker only looks for the classes and not which specs those classes have equipped. So it can happen that your team has 2 vanilla guardians and enemy team has 2 dh or firebrands. Or 2 scourge on one side and 2 vanilla necros on other side. Seen it all.

I suppose they're not talking about core builds, but rather about the laid back attitude of those free players who do not care.

Removing core players from ranked pvp would be stupid in my opinion. There are plenty of people who do well with core builds. There are also people who own both expansions that still play core builds. I own both and I play a mixture of core, HOT, and POF builds depending on my preference.

How would distinguish between core only and owners of the expansions who choose to play core builds? Also not all core only players are free to play. There are plenty of people who bought gw2 before the expansions who have decided not to buy the expansions.

I have pof and hot but i have fun playing core builds . What is your problem ? I payed for the game and i play what i enjoy myself most.

Well they have "punished" wintrading in the past. Although i think thats just been temporary dishonors rather than permanent.

i don´t think there is a need to not let them in. In generall it´s too easy to join ranked. Below 100 victories with a single class no one should enter ranked.

Currently, any account must reach PvP rank 20 before participating in ranked contests. Although I am not certain which aspect of F2P OP is opposed to, it may be an idea to make the entry threshold higher. Just like F2P accounts cannot enter cities until lvl10 or LA until lvl35, perhaps we should raise the entry to ranked to PvP rank 40 or 50. This addresses two possible issues - the lack of experience/understanding exhibited by fresh players and new accounts being created for manipulating matches.

Idk if raising it would help honestly. In unranked you can zerg through the points and be done a lot of the time.Honestly we need the 2v2 arenas and the others their working on to get here quickly. Conquest is just too much a team mode and no one wants to communicate pre/during match.

Please, there are not many real "free" players at all the vast majority of them are alt accounts. Many are used to cheat or dupe the mathmaking system during seasons. More benignly, and still irritating, top paid players use them (they want to have multipe top ranked accounts or want to play ranked once they reach the games played threshold on there main account) and ruin matches for less skilled players until they reach there proper rating level after starting out at 1200 MMR. Season ranked should be for paying customers. They cause more problems for ranked in season matches then any positive benefit. Not a huge deal to me but enough with but the poor free account only players they help the game's population so much. BS. It was a decent idea to try when they rolled it out but to me the evidence is clear it did not have the effect they wanted and the overall effect is in fact negative so time to react to it and ban them from in season rated.

I played a few vanilla classes in PvP (in and outside of seasons). I understand the concern for F2P accounts however to punish all for what a few did is kind of hasty, elitist, and the kind of toxicity I expect from the general PvP atmosphere.

And there have been confirmed wintraders who got punished (some with thing like a perma dishonor or as little as 3 months dishonor)

Report wintrading players and move on.

Pay to play? No thanks. GW2 is known to be an open game for all players to find something to enjoy. Restricting an entire game mode behind money is a bad idea.
