shadowpass.4236
Any time it starts raining, my fps drops insanely low. It happens in PvP on Khylo as well as PvE and other areas in the game. Is there a setting I can turn off to get rid of the rain?
Urud.4925
Also one of the chapters in the last LW story has a heavy rain, and it was almost unplayable for me... Awesome graphic, nothing to say, but I could almost count the frames.
Ashantara.8731
Have you tried lowering the effect details? Also deactivating post processing?P.S. I agree that this game needs a serious overhaul of the engine, because even on mid- and high-end PCs you can encounter severe FPS issues during large group events. BunjiKugashira.9754
I just got a new graphics card and fps still drop below 30 in some areas. ANet really has to consider a complete overhaul of the graphics engine.

I got literally seasick doing a bounty train on Sandswept Isle and had to leave after 15 minutes because of nausea.
shadowpass.4236
I can usually run max graphics at 60 fps but as soon as Scourge and classes with insane amount of graphics sewage start casting skills, or its starts raining/sandstorming/snowing... my fps drops to like 4. Dravyn.4671
Where is it raining? I haven't seen any rain in this game, and I have max graphics settings
ProtoGunner.4953
There are certain effects, which affect hugely the FPS and I read every week about stuff like this. I noticed this the most with the storm effects during the Maw event in Wayfarer Foothills:https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Frozen_MawAs soon as the storm spawns the fps goes from whatever 30-40 to 15. Let's face it this engine is ancient and still uses a 10+ year old directx version. It's really beyond ancient - especially in computer terms. They really have to overhaul it and they know it. There are also a few places in Core Tyria where it rains as well, such as Salma's Heath in Queesnsdale.

There is a known issue regarding Win10 and fps since the fall update in windowed fullscreen.. just google it and find some useful tips that might help... I find switching to windowed mode in game then switching back sorts it out.. for a time at least

But else, it sucks to see your CPU stuck at 40% usage and D3D usage of my GTX1080 of 50% - but then having unstable 32 fps on FullHD without Anti Alias. aNet really needs to hurry up if they want to keep and gain new players. It's a shame that you see many screenshots here on mid or low end computers running subsamples low-quality textures on many screenshots while the same system could handle GTAV easily.Excelsior. shadowpass.4236
Does anyone else have any ideas on how to turn off rain/snow? I go from max graphics at 60 fps to like 10 as soon as it starts raining/snowing.
