RANGER'S THIRD'S SPEC: ASSASSIN?

Give them a spec that makes them into true Archers where, rather than giving them a new weapon, they would get completely new and powerful abilities for both Bows [Longbow for Power, Shortbow for Condi builds, so both have a choice].

Call them Far/Arrowstriders or something like that.

Would love to see something swift. Maybe a duelist-class, using only a one-handed sword with both hands (tbh most of the one-handed swords look more like hand and half swords...) using a kind of witcher-fighting style. Utility-Skills could be runes, put down to the bottom, but more like our old throwing-traps.

How about "Tracker", "Savage"?

Add an F5 that gives 5 charges of poisoned knives.

A harpoon gun with 900-600 range would be nice, complete with a tether-pull, a scattershot with burning and fear, a reload-evade that gives brief quickness and caltrops, then complete the set with a blind/daze shot and an auto that applies poison.

We can use Physical utilities to add some CC to the condi playstyle, maybe a knockback that turns people around for the Shortbow, a move that lets you pick up an enemy for 2 seconds to change their positioning, a short dash stealthing for 1 second that has 2 charges, a heal that dazes, and an elite that throws a spear to pulse poison and cripple.

The traits could add cover conditions on CC, gain short resistance on Physical skill use, buff the use of knife throw like steal health and remove 1 condition, and generally make it rewarding for condi Ranger to stay in closer ranges and "brawl".

For ranger, ability to use gun(s) as weapon (pistol or rifle) is the missing piece imo. It will be interesting if 3rd elite specialization allows ranger to use dual pistol on main hand and off hand, or just allows them to use rifle. OR focusing on bow mastery that each skill is each special arrow effects like burning, bleeding, etc.,
