Mystic forge & Skins

If I dump a weapon or a mini in the mystic forge without unlocking the skin do I get the skin? Thinking of buying the one SAB mini box to get those minis and the one I unlock by combining them in the mystic forge

Minis will not unlock when placed in the forge. If you want the whole set, you need to buy two of the Mini Boxes, and use one set to forge the Super Angry Cloud.I don't like that it does this.

Weapons and armor, unlock their skins as the forge destroys them.

was that changed? last time (which was years ago) i flushed my weapons down the mystic toilet didnt give my skins

Weapon skins should unlock any time you remove it from the economy, by binding, salvaging or MF. Are you certain you didn't already have the skins unlocked?

Prior to the wardrobe system (years ago), forging an item meant you no longer had access to its skin.

Since the wardrobe system was put in place, forging any weapon or armor skin will unlock the skin for your account (assuming it has not already been unlocked).
