Are there ever any 1v1 duel events?

Hey all,

Mostly a WvW roamer and recently came back to pvp and having fun again. In the past I participated in some 1v1 tournaments. They were livestreamed and shoutcasted and it was so fun. Does this kind of thing ever happen these days?

I feel like in order to have any semblance of a fair competition, you'd have to ban an entire class, or at least two specializations. Either that, or you won't have much variety in your tournament.

I think what you are talking about were the ESL 1v1 Tournaments. But ESL is gone, so those are not happening anymore. Probably these sort of tournamets could only happen right now if they would be organised by the community like for example the UGO, but I wouldn't get my hopes too high.

What specs are op for dueling? I main ranger and currently play melee soulbeast. I do well against mostly all specs in WvW at least.

Maybe I can try and organize something for the future. Sounds like a lot of work and I would need to figure out how to acquire prizes
