Why does Transfusion pull people From no port spots?

If I try to transfusion somebody while standing on a pillar it won't teleport them to me, it will teleport them to the base of pillar. Tranfusion will pull a down to the closest valid location to the necro.

That's actually because the weapons you're referring to were designed back in 2012, not recently. All core weapons with cone AoE have this problem -- they have very limited vertical effects. Blunderbuss (engineer rifle 3) and Drake's Breath (ele dagger 2) have this exact same problem as well.

More recent additions to the game (IE Holographic Shockwave) use a 3D bubble effect instead of a cone because the devs recognize this as a potential shortcoming.

Agreed, I think it would help breathe some life into those older weapons.

It doesn't.

The only way it would port someone to a no-port is if both the necro doing the transfusion and the corpse being pulled are on the same mesh so that they can port to each other. It might sometimes happen that that mesh is a no-port relative to your current position.

An explanation would be fantastic.

Because Search and Rescue will fully rez a downed player with no further action on the Ranger's part. Transfusion will not bring a player out of downstate on it's own.

Also because there used to be a SNR Druid build back in the HoT era that was a way better power rezzer than anything else in the game before or since, so SNR was nerfed because of it.
