Ithas Longbow acquisition

Recommended Posts

Ok, I understand that in order to unlock this skin you have to play Guild Wars, but after asking around there doesn't seem to be a definite answer on what you have to do in Guild Wars in order to unlock this item in Guild Wars 2.Are there specific achievements? Specific currency involved that isn't bound to specific achievements?
The skin would be the only reason I have any interest in Guild Wars, and the $20 it would cost for the game would go a long way to unlocking some other skins in GW2 if I just did gems to gold.

tl;dr: You'll need to acquire 22 points in your GW1 Hall of Monuments. There is a variety of ways to get these points.

The first thing you'll need to do is acquire at least one of the GW games (Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall) and the expansion, Eye of the North. Once you've made your way through the beginning areas of any of the games and have reached level 10, you can make your way to the Eye of the North. The NPCs who'll give you the relevant quests are located here.

After you make it there, it's then a matter of collecting points. They can be gained through a variety of tasks, some involving explorations, collections, or activities. You'll need to get 22 points unlocked, which will then give you the Ithas Longbow skin. Here's a guide to help you on your way.

@Neural.1824 said:Thank you for the info, and.. yeah. I wouldn't pay $2 let alone $20 to have to grind that much in a game that has no bearing on GW2 beyond a single skin.

It does explain a few backreferences that exist in GW2 to GW1, especially if you play any of the Eye of the North. (e.g. it explains who Ogden Stonehealer is, and who Gwen Thackeray - she whose tomb is in Ebonhawke - was). And there are a bunch of other skins you can get, and up to four ranger pets (two by the time you reach 22 points).

But yeah, if you're only interested in the Ithas longbow skin, it isn't going to be worth the effort.
