Floating an idea to balance scourge in WvW

They could make it so that if you don't have any shades active, then the skills pulse around the necro like the currently do... But if you do have shades out, then they only pulse around the shades... Although I think to make that work, they would also have to maybe give Scourges like an f6 that just instantly dismisses all of their shades so that they could swap back into defensive mode. The balance being that they could still wreak havoc from range, and also still defend themselves, but not both at the same time--and at penalty of wasted life-force if they are constantly switching modes.

A good dire/trailblazer scourge is incredibly hard to bring down for any class, even far better kiters.

The only reason people say they are "bad" is that out of 10 necros you encounter 8 or 9 will be 100% focused on brainless zerging so they cant do anything that doesnt include a commander telling them where to go, whereas out of the 2 mesmers you meet in the same timespan both will be seasoned duelists that know exactly how to fight your specific class and build.

People counter trailblazer necs easily. Dont really see what the fuss is about. Permakite, make em waste lifeforce, gg. Rangers/thieves/holos/, you get the idea. I wont include mesmer, that class is broken beyond repair in duels

Its because people dont want to pay attention and want to facetank everything. Scourge is so easy to counter its not even funny. Regardless of whether its solo or zerging, smart group comps and strategy make all the difference, but people just want to run in like idiots and one push.

Full condi scourge isn’t even good...

Even core nec full trailblazer is better than scourge

What the should do is bring back the 'sacrifice' feature that was started with some skills like Blood for power. Each Aoe skill used sacrifices % of health from the necro. If they go crazy and start spamming, boom, them kill themselves.

So just like going crazy spamming and running out of life force and having no defense, this is what already happens if you are just smashing buttons.

Just lower the target cap and damage, outside of a full redesign on the way the elite works there are not a lot of good options.
