SoftPlayer.4361
Hi everyone.I'm starting right now to play this game after a lot of time hearing it.I have a general idea of how this game works, however i'm still a newbie. So: i'm playing as a Warrior for my first character, right now level 18.I have already an idea on how to develop my character(Greatsword/Long bow) but I don't know where to use Hero Points: just don't understand the Late-game content so didn't pick anything thinking i could mess up my character. So I'm here to ask you in which traits to spend Hero Points for my warrior.Thanks. If you are really curious on which elite specialization you should be spending hero points on, spend them on the Spellbreaker specialization. It's a power CC focused specialization while Berserker is more focused on condition damage.
DeanBB.4268
You get enough hero points to unlock everything Core by level 80, so there are no wrong choices. After that, you want to focus on unlocking one Elite.
SoftPlayer.4361
The fact is that I got only the standard edition,no expansion(for now).I'm probably gonna buy al least ToH in a month probably. So i'm now sure on what to focus about right now except the core. Just upgrade what you think can be useful for you by reading what the skills do etc.
Optimator.3589
Quite frankly, for open world usage, I prefer base Warrior over either of the elite specs. I usually run some variant on the 'dodging makes right" WvW build on metabattle. https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Warrior_-_Dodging_Makes_Right It's more durable and forgiving to play, and will easily take you through all of your personal story. Khisanth.2948
You have to fully unlock core before you can put any points into any elite spec anyway.
Pretty Pixie.8603
Keep in mind that lonbow is primarily a condition damage weapon, while Greatsword is power focused. Greatsword/Hammer or Greatsword/axe+shield are probably better options.
Ojimaru.8970
If you're still wondering about a good order to unlock your skills and traits, try this:Signet Training - Unlock until Signet of Fury. You'll then equip the first three Signets as your main passive skills while leveling.Physical Training - Unlock until Throw Bolas. You'll be use the skill mainly to activate Peak PerformanceStrength Specialization - Unlock until Berserker's Power. This should be your first specialization, using Peak Performance, Forceful Greatsword, and Beserker's PowerDiscipline Specialization - Unlock until Heightened Focus. This should be your second specialization, using Warrior's Sprint, Brawler's Recover, and Heightened FocusFrom the third specialization, you can either go Arms for a little extra damage, or Defense for some extra self-sustain. I also purposely did not recommend any Elite skills because they generally don't provide much benefits while leveling. If you're looking to pick one up with your spare Hero Points, I'd go for Signet of Rage, which you will activate whenever it's off cooldown. Lanhelin.3480
If you do map completions in every level-similar zone (all 1-15, all 15-30, etc.) you'll reach Level 80 in one of the 55-65 areas. Around Level 70-72 you should already have enough heropoints to max all core-trees. If you continue to do map completion and aim to do the 100% exploration achievement (which only requires to complete the core maps) you'll have a small pool of around 70 hp for the Elites, the first trait to unlock them costs 30 hp each.Mind that the HoT-Elite trait unlocking progress works like this: all T1 traits, Minor, all T2 traits, Minor, all T3 traits, Eliteskillwhile the PoF-Elite trait unlocking progress is: T1 (1), Minor, T2 (1), Minor, T3 (1) - T1 (2), T2 (2), T3 (2) - T1 (3), T2 (3), T3 (3), Elite - which allows to use a fully linked PoF-Elite tree much earlier than the HoT-Elite.
